technically its "American football" and we changed 'football' to soccer to lessen confusion
Excuse me, but that's inappropriate for school. |

@this, eventually it'll be less thought of as a sport for girls in cartoons and more for men who want to kick a ball really high.

also rugby is not football, the only similarity is the ball, goal post and field
the rules are completely different

| How can Americans even confuse rugby with football? The balls are so different. |

We don't confuse them, its a pretty obvious difference, you don't wear big shoulderpads and have to actually be athletic to become a pro.

@awesome, but the amount of time it would take for people who have gotten used to terms is ridiculous. we'd never be able to get used to calling some things by different names than what we've called them the past 300 years.

rugby is different than american football believe it or not rugby players don't actually go full contact its like they avoid the runner but at the same time tackle him
american football people devote their neck and head being broken and paralyzed for the rest of their life to tackle someone

'amerika uses th amerika customry because its specual'
even though the united states customary is only special in how idiotic it is

no, we have to wear "armour" because if we didn't there would be 4 deaths a match and a ton of serious injuries... in rugby it's just 150lbs people tackling eachother, but imagine getting tackled by a 310lbs linebacker without any pads.. |
