Last emperor was mr. Puyi, overthrown in 1911.
That was the end of all dynastic cycles in China from the Xia (probably fictional) or Shang Dynasty all the way to the Qing Dynasty. |

The dictionary definition of Imperialism is
" a policy of extending a country's power and influence through diplomacy or military force"
So technically china still is. |

Last time I checked, imperialism is gaining control of another foreign nation via economy, politic, social media, or through land capturing. What your talking about is something different all together
