The only other Dragon/Ground type is a land shark. A LAND SHARK.
Also Zygarde is the coolest dragon. Besides Kyurem, but that's only literally.

I forgot about Flygon. But then again, it's fairly weak.
And the only person in XY who really uses Ice-types is Wulfric, so that 4x Ice weakness isn't much. And the hexagon snake concept is awesome. Land shark, not so much.

Technically it is a land shark since it occupies land instead of the sea. Jet usually implies flight.
And Giratina, while awesome, is inferior to other options for Ghost-types. Like Aegislash. Or Gengar. You know that trope Awesome yet Impractical? Many legendaries fit under this, usually the "higher" ones.
Zygarde is Awesome yet Practical, coming loaded with Crunch, Earthquake, Dragon Pulse, and Camouflage. It gets Dragon Dance not soon after capture.

garchomp has a mega evolution and hence has a higher base stat total than zygarde
basically zygarde is just mega garchomp but with lower attack + special attack stats |

Zygarde is more practical due to the fact that Garchomp requires a Mega Evolution to be able to survive super-effective Ice moves with some ease. Zygarde has enough defenses and health to survive that normally. It also has a greater special attack stat than normal Garchomp, which wrecked during Gen IV.
Zygarde is the awesome hexagonal worm version of the land shark we all know. And it is also cuter. Want proof? Take it to Pokemon Amie.

'Zygarde is more practical due to the fact that Garchomp requires a Mega Evolution to be able to survive super-effective Ice moves with some ease'
zygarde doesn't survive ice type moves either the only real time you'd be encountering physical ice-type moves would be against a skill link cloyster with icicle spear and trust me even unboosted it could OTKO zygarde
'It also has a greater special attack stat than normal Garchomp'
it has a greater base special attack than regular garchomp, yes. by one

I had a weird encounter with Zygarde. I threw dozens of Ultra/Timer Balls at it, but I throw one Poke Ball and it sticks in there. The exact same thing happened with Mewtwo, but I used more than one Poke Ball. |

Zygarde has a slightly greater chance of surviving them. It is also better with the 2x effective ones; Dragon and Fairy. Plus, even though it's slower, it can deal more damage to a Garchomp than a Garchomp could do to it.
Oh, and I weakened Zygarde with my Aegislash, with one Iron Head and three False Swipes. It then beat my Aegislash, so, to avoid Earthquake (The rest of my team was either very damaged or weak to Ground), I send out my Charizard. I threw one Dusk Ball and bam, capture.
Always carry Dusk Balls.
