Chechnya/Dagestan.
With the upcoming Olympics in Sochi, the majority of the Western Media in attendance and the upheaval in certain Russian occupied areas, this is going to be on our TV screens for months to come.
Personally, I think Chechnya deserve independence. However, the leader of Russia isn't exactly a nice guy so this will be getting nasty. |

| Free Chenynya so it's vulnerable to the extremist threat? I've also heard that it's got some oil. When it's free, how are we sure some other country wont decide it needs more oil and come along start an uprising? |

I Agree, Chechnya does deserve independence, they declared independence when the USSR fell, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia did too, I don;'t understand why russia attacked Chechnya, the reason they delcared independence was because they were treated like second class citizens even in Chechnya when it was controlled by Russia, and they still are today. I personally think Putin is an Idiot, Chechnya will stop planting bombs all over the place if Putin gives them Independence, but he thinks his reputation is more Important than the lives of his citizens. |

WAIT IGNORE THAT.
Afghan won it's independence when the USSR still had it. Chechnya declared independence when the USSR fell. then Russia invaded it again.
Also, Chechnya has no Oil at all, look at the Geography of the place. |

Chechnya is not rich in Oil, if the BBC says that then you've found a bad site, or the BBC is stupid. Chechnya is all highlands and land above sea level. Chechnya has never had an ocean on it therefore Oil is void.

4, No matter how many websites say Chechnya has oil, you cannot deny the facts. Oil forms when animals OCEANS die and they are crushed and slowly turn into oil, Chechnya has never had an Ocean on it, nor has it even ever Bordered an Ocean.

| Jesus, none of those sites claimed that Chechynya has oil. The concept of borders and trade routes seems to be lost on you. |
