Satan is great, because according to Sethian Gnosticism, the Devil (or snake)=Christ
Here's how it works. The Garden of Eden was a sinful place. The fruit of the trees there were ignorance, and wretched contentment. Now, the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil would have allowed man to reach his full potential by gaining knowledge of The Monad and the upper echelons of creation. Now, Yaldabaoth didn't want this, so he tried saying that he was God and that there were no other gods but him, and he'd be damned if he let them eat from that tree! But Christ the Autogenes saved mankind from an age of sheer ignorant bliss by tell them to partake of the fruit that had been forbidden to Adam and Eve by Yaldabaoth.
Hope that helps.

That's not true. The God of the old testament (Or Yaldabaoth, A.K.A. Samael) is trying to mislead people. He is trying to reclaim his divine spark from his mother, Sophia. Read this wikipedia entry on the subjectt, it should clear up any lies you were taught:

Because he didn't, because Satan and God aren't real. No one would be stupid enough to rebel against an omnipotent, omnipresent being. |

| To my knowledge (and realize that I may be mistaken), Lucifer was the one who rebelled against God, thereby becoming Satan. |

@Zipo99
Nope, you're wrong. Christ = the serpent, and Yahweh=Yaldabaoth. Need any proof? Try the Bible/ Apocryphon of John.

Your knowledge is incorrect. Neither of them even existed.
"Lucifer is not Satan. The word "Lucifer" isnt even in the Bible."
"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!" - Isaiah 14:12 KJV
That's the only verse I can find. xD You seem to be pretty much right. |

| "Heaven" there is not "Heaven" in its literal sense. Its symbolic for a high position. It reffers to King Nebuchanezzer or Nimrod if my memory serves me correct. |

| The word Lucifer is a translation from the phrase "shining one". The original translation of the Scriptures does not have the word "Lucifer" in it. It is shining one. |

| Well, I said I might be wrong. Scripture is no where near my specialties for knowledge. |
