So during the medieval times, there was a period that made the earth a lot warm. Greenland was a lush green rain foresty paradise (hence its name) and everything was warm. Obviously, after that there had to be cooling. So the earth began to cool down, but then came carbon emissions and such from the industrial revolution. That paused the cooling and slightly warmed it because carbon absorbs the sun's rays and creates somewhat of a blanket over the earth. The carbon we emit is heating us while without it we would be cooling.

No, we had a warm period and the earth was cooling down for the next ice age. We just paused that.

| Right now it is just getting more extreme in both summer and winter. Like this winter was colder than usually and the summer will be warmer. |

Its climate change, there are other effects than just warming.

| Global warming can actually cause global cooling (aka ice age). When the planet heats up, the polar ice caps start to melt. They don't melt as in "POOF" but they fracture and the ice spreads farther. The solar radiation bounces off the ice and off into space. That cools the planet and more ice forms, eventually there is so much ice that the ice does not even melt during summer and so the cycle has begun. Ice = More Cold = More Ice = More Cold = More Ice = More Cold |

Actually when Erik the Red(Viking) set up a Norse colony on Greenland, Greenland was mostly either a grassland or plains during that time. It was not way it could of been a rainforest then. |

That polar vortex thing proves we are going into an Ice Age
plus it just snowed like 2 inches where I live
and it NEVER snows.

| And what made Erik The Red's colony to collapse sudden change of temperature and cold climate in Greenland, thus many died in famines and the rest of Norsemen fled back home or to so called "Vinland" (which is probably Newfoundland or Nova Scotia) |

Casper, that was the extreme cooling because before there was extreme warming to melt the ice of greenland.
@polar vortex person, Polar Vortexes happened periodically no matter warm or cold.

Also volcanic eruptions that massive and happened else where in the world can also change global temperature and climate and even weather patterns. Because of all the smoke and ash from whatever super massive volcano would spread by jetstreams and wind and it would spread across many parts of the world. This had happened many times in human history, such the Year Without a Summer was a year for the Northern Hemisphere where it very cold and there was snow and ice, and crops failed due to all of volcanic ash from Indonesia in atmosphere blocking the sun.
Thus many people died from hunger in the Year Without a Summer. And the Year Without a Summer took place in mid 1800s.
