Post-apocalyptic setting, you're a patient in an abandoned mental asylum, occupied by your faction, the rebels. They put you to sleep to perform a limb transplant as you've been infected by radioactive leeches (equivalent to zombie infection?). The opposing faction pulls the power during the operation and soldiers come in to clear out the building, and drop leeches to clear out any survivors. You wake up a few hours after the attack and you escape through an old air-vent in the ceiling.
And then just make up some stuff to fill in some gameplay. |

I'm going to be honest here and say that the ideas above are total cliches. Abandoned hospital? How many horror games don't have at least one of those? And why not a game that isn't post-apocalyptic. That realm has pretty much been sucked dry.
Before you horrify the player, you must terrify them. Make them dread what's coming next. But that's just a tip. Here's my idea:
You are a new hire at BIG corp. Upon your arrival, your coworkers look at you with pity and sometimes disgust. As you sit down, you hear someone screaming "NO! LET GO! PLEASE!". They are about to kill him. No, sacrifice him. And you're next.
The objective is to get out of there! You cannot fight, but you have stealth. |

WHY? Why do you insist in a mental institution?
When you are making a game, stick to ONE thing and make that thing good! DO NOT THINK OF THE APOCALYPSE. ERASE IT FROM YOUR MIND. IT IS DEAD. STOP MAKING POST-APOCALYPTIC GAMES EVERYONE. |

True, Apocalypse Games is way too much of an overrused idea. Apocalypse Rising and Deadzone did it right, but it basically said "Alright no more apocalypse games plox."
For starters, there are two horror roblox games forms: One vs All. One has lots of power. One is either unknown or revealed. Players on the All side must work together to conquer the One/find out who the one is, and kill the One. One gets more currency for winning.
Players vs Force. Several players have to defeat/conquer a force with guns/melee weapons. This is mostly used in zombie games, but can be pulled off brilliantly without it being a zombie game. |

| There are also single player mysteries. Each player is put in the place where the story takes place, and the other players are put in the same place, but not with the other players. There are few of these, since it takes guts and scripting to pull off. |
