And is 399$.
Remember it needs a disc drive and official OS. It can be something free like Linux though. I see PC gamers saying "ogm pc is so much cheaper!" and I want to see some action with these bluffs. |

Yeah, I've never completely understood the "PC is cheaper" argument. I always figured they meant how games on Steam are usually cheaper and with all the extra things PC gets for being more powerful makes it in the long run cheaper.
They might just be stupid and say the PC it's self is cheaper though... |

Here's the closest build I could come up with, and this is with Linux, an OS that has not so great game support, and with just a dvd drive, and not a Blu-ray drive like the Playstation 4.

Yep. 76$ more. I had to choose faster ram, as there isn't any sort of GDDR5 ram available on the pc part picker site. |

@Shov PS4 has built in RAM, designed for video cards mainly. GDDR5 is only found in a PC s video card. |

@Liam
Most games support quad-core CPUs now, or will at least in the future. I recommend modifying your build to put a quad-core CPU in. Also need to add an hdmi cord and mic, as the Playstation 4 comes with both of those. |

@jhonny
Actually PSN is 50 dollars, and optional. Games with subscriptions, or F2P, don't even require PSN to go online.
Elder Scrolls online and Planetside 2 are just two examples of online PS4 games not requiring subscriptions. |

It's still required for a vast majority of multiplayer games

Well...remember they are selling the Playstation 4's at a loss. They have to reclaim money back somehow. |

It's still part of the overall price you need to spend for the console to get all of its features

It's like building legos, once you start to do it (or so I've heard..) |

building a pc is like building lego castles from your imagination
consoles are like those lego sets with the instructions that tell you how and what to build for all those kiddies with no imagination

Why would a PC need blu-ray when no PC games are released on blu-ray discs? They are almost all downloaded, same for movies before you try and spring that one as well. |
