I know it's not because the graphics, but i will ask this: is it because you're a pc elitist? is it because you're an anti-nintendrone? |

no and no
i was a die hard pokemon fan when I played D/P/Ptt and it was meh.
D/P felt rushed. Pretty much every single animation took forever to play out, with surfing particuarly. I also did't like the music very much. It just didnt measure up to pretty much any pre-VI region. In my opinion, FireRed had better music despite having a more primitive sound system. The art style was very plain and most of the region was forgettable due to too many things going on.
Platinum to me is what D/P should of been.
Looking at how much I enjoyed HG/SS (i have never played G/S/C before so dont call nostalgia), I can't even bear to play through D/P. Platinum is pretty much on par with HG/SS but I was still bummed that I had to pay again to even halfway enjoy the region. |

well what was so complex? you go on an adventure. bad guy appears, wants to take over world, blows up lake, you try to stop him, and you win |

it was more that after the 4th gym you'd cease to realize there was a guy in galactic standing outside the 4th gym
and that you'd need talk to him two weeks after starting your wait for the elevator to drop in the 5th gym

annoying bog that slowed you down annoying snow world that slowed you down oreburgh mine sunnyshore's weird geography that haunted mansion outside eterna mt coronet the 3 lakes mt. iron that flower field that forest that volcano snowpoint temple battlezone spear pillar that rich guy's mansion
the thing that other regions had is a particular landmark that actually was significant in some way, for example ecruteak town's bell tower. sinnoh was just eye candy by trying to show off too many things but none of them really had any depth save for spear pillar, but even then not really. |

| Does anyone remember Hearthomes' Church, that made me stop playing right there and then out of shock. It just felt out of place. |
