I joined Imperials because I thought it would help me get into a city I needed to get into to get Therald... Didn't work.
So my question is: did I make the right choice, is there a way to leave the Imperials, and join the Stormcloaks? |

I almost always go Stormcloak. I just hate the idea of another province ruling over a native province. Especially when they allow a bunch of extremists to drag people out of their homes for being a ''heretic''. |

The Imperials!
First: The Nords (Especially the StormCloaks) Are a bunch of Racist barbarians, playing mostly Dunmer I dislike them... a lot.
Second: If both the Nords and the Empire wish to stand against the Aldmeri Dominion they need to be unified, infighting amongst the humans will be their doom.
Third: . Especially when they allow a bunch of extremists to drag people out of their homes for being a ''heretic''.
That's the Thalmor, not the Empire. The Empire has no love for the Thalmor but is forced to put up with them due to the treaty known as the White Gold Concordant. The Empire wants to prepare for a war that would remove the Thlamor for power. But good old Ulfric decided he'd be a great high king. |

| Whether it's forced or not. I can't stand the idea of it, whether it's unreasonable or not. I don't want such things. In all fairness, I hate the Empire about as much as the Thalmor. For several other reasons. |

That said, it's of no importance what others say you should do. Regarding a heated discussion like the civil war, it's usually driven by bias. (I'm not saying it's here.) I know that because I see it alot on other forums I attend.
So, in truth, in the end they're both grey, both good and bad. So it's all about what you find best. I played both sides and used all sorts of sources to decide which side really fits me best. |

You are all Heretics for worshipping talos and need to be put to death! HERETICS!
That's what a thalmor would have said, had my arrow not been in his mouth. |

There is no such thing as a good Thalmor. Even in dead I get the urge to turn them into dust.
Regarding the Empire, they betrayed and abandoned Hammerfall which made them a target for the Thalmor. After the Oblivion Crisis they also abandoned Morrowind. I even have a Dunmer Stormcloak, and well, it doesn't feel like she's breaking immersion. So to add to what I mentioned before, personal reasons of the character and his/her motivation to do so plays a big role. If you're a RPer like me, that is. |

| The Imperials are antagonized from the start of the game, so the Stormcloaks. |

| I'm in favor of the Dovahkiin pulling a Talos, and conquering all of Tamriel creating the Fourth Empire. |

it doesn't change anything storywise and i honestly would've preferred to take skyrim for myself, but for roleplaying's sake i'll give my opinion
imperials want to unite everyone to fight the thalmor but they tried to kill you at the beginning of the game and they wear kilts
stormcloaks didn't kill you at the beginning of the game but they're racist and seem a lot like american rednecks
i choose imperials

you can change sides by giving that crown thingy (forgot what it was called) to ulfric instead of tullius if you're already that far then it's too late to switch |

Yeah, a neutral route would've been awesome. Just kill everyone. Anyone who stands in your way, just kill them.

I prefer Imperials, honestly. It feels like you're on the winning side before you even started when you are for the imperials though.

honestly idk
i don't know whether i think the stormcloak's cause is a great cause or a really awful cause and they're all super annoying but on the other hand if you join the imperials you're effectively supporting the thalmor and you also have to put up with clan battle-born |
