Name: Donnchad mac Art II Father: Donnchad mac Art I Mother: Cainnech ingen Canannán
DoB: 8th October 932 AD
Life Story:I was born in the royal city of Dublin, province of Brega. The king of Ireland, i.e, my father, was always busy in battle. As I grew up, one day, my father was in need of an urgent general for battle, seeing it as an opportunity, I followed my father's footsteps and went into battle against the Army of his final enemy state, Ulster. Originally occupied by the fearsome Scotts, word was that the rebels of Ulster on the verge of rising and would be willing to pay anything to fend off the tyrants of Scotland. As Irish troops marched on the towns at the outskirts of Ulster, we were welcomed as heroes that were going to free them. The Scottish army was there to face us, all ready for battle, a fearsome sight. My fellow general,Oerstadtt, sent in the gallowglasses to the flanks, with Armored spearmen led by me in deep ranks, side by side, my father's knights provided cover to our flanks as we marche on. The archers were quickly put up front by the Scottish. Seeing this, my father immediately ordered the kerns to move forward. The archers of the Scotts were already trained against the same English tactics. They instead fired half the arrows on the spearmen and half on the kerns. Everyone was badly injured, followed by a brief attack by the kerns on the Scottish archers, we did see an opening there, but as soon as my father charged, seeing this, so did I, The royal English knights emerged. My father and his knights were no match to the English, and were cut up to bits. The kerns were quickly finished off by the more experienced archers, who now shot down the gallowglasses that were charging on them. The spearmen were then faced by a HUGE number of swordsmen emerging from the sides. All was lost. I was spared and taken hostage. For days I rotted in prison for many a year, rescued by Oerstadtt, who had fled the field. I returned to my kingdom, and found that it was previously torn apart by civil war among 5 of my generals, not including Oerstadtt. I found that it was now run by a young man called Alatar, who united Ireland to it's former glory. I took my place in my uncle's home, a trader by profession. Now I live in Ireland as a humble trader, who has a prospering business, with Scottish in particular. I just recently killed a Scottish general who recognised me , for I had put a deep scar in his face that was still reddish-black with clotted blood. Yes, I carry concealed weapons with me for security so DON'T try to charge on me. |
