(‘Eeeyyy everybody! I am back [I thought I would announce my ever-so-wonderful presence!]. Anyway, I have had this idea in mind for about a year or two, and it has been developed over the years, the most recent inspiration from a roleplay I have been involved in for about two weeks. I decided to share my terrible and new [actually old, but you get my drift] idea. I hope you enjoy!)
Disclaimer: This will be a rather long set of words, however you do NOT have to read them all immediately. Just read the required “chapters” that are listed below, and you should be set:
Plot-line (If you would like bigger detail, read the storyline, however the TL;DR version of it should suffice)
Rules (Of course, absolutely not optional)
The Kingdom you wish to be a citizen as (Not all of them right away, unless you do want to read each one.)
Classes (Just a brief description of each)
The race you choose to be (Same as the Kingdom decision, they do not all have to be read right away, however do put time into reading them all later.)
By the way, this is set during the Renaissance-Medieval era (fantasized, of course). Please keep that in mind as you are making characters.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Storyline -
The world has just begun its “new-birth” as some call it. The common word of “peace” lost as leaders become power-hungry for Kingdoms to increase their ever-growing empires. Villages are burned, mines are destroyed, and Kingdoms are created. During this time, however, plague spreads, evil overcomes and the times of “The Holy Days” are gone. Nights are longer, while the days are shorter. Nothing is how it used to be, as the elders would tell you. Everyone has a dark side to them, and everyone is looking for the holy light to shine again. A deadly plague has spread across the world, boils growing upon even the most noble and priestly of folks. They blame it upon demons, witches, wizards and mages. People who are blamed for performing witchcraft, or demonic magic, have been put to death. Even the royal Mage of the Kingdom could be killed if caught. The only place accepting refugees from war, and plague, is the Land of the Forsaken.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am terrible at storylines, however if you could please read the plotline also, that would be wonderful!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Plotline -
Basically, the world is in chaos. Times of peace are gone, and almost everyone is power-hungry. There is a plague going on in all of the Kingdoms, and it is deadly. There are no angels anymore, and there are only demons. Very rarely will you see someone of the “good of heart” or have a good, holy soul (Suggestions - Paladin, Priest, some alchemists). Innocence is gone. The world is also darker, some forests are decaying, the nights are much longer, and the presence of evil always stays. You are, technically, in a scarier form of the dark-ages. You are not on Earth, so be creative (However, do not bring the colour green in. That’s not creative at all.)! This, in basic, is a free-roam RP where you can develop your own sub-plot, while following the true plotline. Personally, I prefer sand-box roleplays. The Land of the Forsaken has yet to be affected by the plague, and is accepting those who have been a witness to it, or those who are not welcome back into their kingdom from war, or other things. Everyone will start out in, or near, the Land of the Forsaken, except for Kings and Queens, as they will be in their own kingdom.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let’s get on to Kingdoms.
If you would like any back-history on any Kingdoms, trade, army, etc., please PM me (or the creator of the Kingdom) and we will be more-than happy to answer!
The main Kingdom (Which is where most players will start out.)
Land of the Forsaken - This Kingdom has been around for at least two centuries. It consists of, what you would call, “the forsaken”. It has been ruled by their queen, Amarra, for the past seven years. The Forsaken Lands is where Kings, Queens, Nobles, etc., send their outcasts, such as the deaf, blind, dumb (unable to speak), the lame (i.e., lame leg), insane, murderers, etc. It is a dangerous land, and is rather hidden also. You can be born in the Forsaken Lands, or even be transported there (However, you need to talk to the Queen once you arrive, inspection will persist.). The Forsaken Lands are not known to common folk, and only those of higher-status can recognize it. It is in the north-east, straight at the Mountain Range. This Kingdom is considered neutral. Their way of travel is by either riding upon over-sized spiders, or over-sized lizards.
Kingdom of Nalle - The Kingdom of Nalle is a rich kingdom, most-known for its rather “pompous” nobles and royals. It specializes in golds and silks. Its a very noble place to travel to, however expensive and even peasants refuse to touch the marble streets. Their people are on the heavy side, eating wealthy day and night, however are considered beautiful and to marry into a household from the Kingdom of Nalle is an absolute honor. They do not believe the plague can affect them because of how rich they seem. The Kingdom of Nalle is far south, and placed at the edge of the forest. Their way of travel is riding on pure-white horses, armored in gold.
The Kingdom of Wings - The Kingdom of Wings floats above the earth, travelling to different places. It is just above the clouds, and on occasion you can see it peak through. The Kingdom moves at night. It is home to the Winged Elves, the only way of getting down and up by flying. It is also a rich kingdom, however not as rich as Nalle. The Kingdom of Wings was considered “heaven” to humans, and the Winged Elves considered angels. However thanks to a few who were infected, the Kingdom of Wings is having a severe problem with the plague. They use their flight as a way of travel.
Kingdom Of Dalerien - This Kingdom is a poor kingdom, known for its lack of riches. However, the people of Dalerien are less power-hungry, they are known to be good and treat others well, even foreigners. They have many peasants, and citizens, lacking in nobles and royals. Very few people visit them, because of the disgusting-vibe others get from stepping in their gates. However, they closed their gates off to where only people can leave. No one can enter, thanks to the horrible infestation. Dalerien is located in the Western Plains, and is rather close to lakes. Their way of travel is on either large wolves, or large cats.
Kingdom of Óir - Or also known as the Kingdom of Gold, the people of Óir helped aid in the building of the Kingdom of Wings. It is a kingdom in the mountains, and despite how not being affected by the plague, they are more-so affected by witches, demons, and even some disasters. They are enemies with the Kingdom of Nalle, as both of them fight to either defend or offend their riches. Their way of travel is mostly on bears, horses, wolves, or even some over-sized bugs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Close to being done! Just read, or suggest, a class you are interested in. These are classes that I could think off the top of my head. There are other classes, that I really did not need to list with an explanation, such as, bards, merchants, slave, etc.
Classes -
Alchemist - They can either be healers, or murderers. They can make potions, poisons, and some are even doctors. They have been quite busy, due to the plague.
Blacksmith - They make armor, weapons, tools and various other things.
Warrior/Soldier/Knight - They are ruthless, however enjoy coming home. They fight in armies and wars, some are war heroes, and others are traitors. Most have been banished from their homelands due to the plague and war. Kingdoms can not trust people from the outside.
Generals/Captains/Commander - They rule under the King and Queen when it comes to armies, most are nobles and most are rather rich. However, if they do lose a battle, most kingdoms would consider them a traitor and will no longer be welcomed.
Nobles - They are either relatives, good friends, or even largely known through politics. They do not rule, however do help the King or Queen aid in negotiations, trade, and etc.
Mage/Archmage - (You will need to PM me to use this class. I will ask you a few questions, and I will need a submission of a roleplay post by yourself that shows you using something similar. Only admins can use this class freely) They use magic, and live by it. They can do either good, or evil. Some are considered royal mages, helping in the use of magic throughout the kingdom. If their magic is taken away, they will die.
Priest - They are holy folk, usually thin and lanky. They are usually poor, and live inside their churches preaching. They have no powers.
Witches/Warlocks - They are forms of alchemists, however can emit curses to cast on people. They use objects to use these curses, either wands or even the environment. They can either backfire on themselves, or actually work. They are also known to make poisons, and if someone catches you using witchcraft, you will be hung or burned at the stake.
Demons - They use the seven deadly sins to manipulate others, lust, greed, pride and wrath the most popular of them all.They do not have powers, however are extremely manipulative to get people to do their deeds.
Paladins - They are also holy, helping in crusades and religious matters. They are an honor to have in a rich kingdom. They can heal, and they can kill.
King/Queen - (To use this Class, you will need to PM me and state the kingdom [Those suggested or those not] to use. I will ask you questions, and once again I will need a submission. I only suggest these classes to those who are good at politics/political roleplays. We do need other Kings and Queens, so please do not hesitate to ask me. I do not bite.) They rule their own kingdom, keeping everything in order and set. They are either hated by their people, or loved.
If you have any other suggestions, PM it to me or an Admin, and we will either accept it or ask you to make changes. However, the Admin or I will post it on the thread (Of course, giving the credit to you)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now, I know it has been a lot of reading so far, however we are almost done! You can just read the race you are interested in, or all of them. Once again, please PM an Admin or I for suggestions of races.
Races -
Human - They are pretty self-explanatory. They are in all kingdoms except for the Kingdom of Wings.
Undead - I had to include these, as they make up most of the population of the Forsaken. They are usually, well, dead and brought back to life by a necromancer (The Forsaken Lands does have these, yes). They can include vampires, zombies (The non-apocalyptic zombies, of course), or anything else considered undead. They can either maintain human form or lack it.
Elves - Taller, quieter folk. These elves can consist of high elves, wood elves, etc. The wood elves live in tribes, scattered throughout forests. They are usually peace-loving kin, however some species of them can be ruthless.
Dwarves - They usually live in the mountains, and are rather short. They make up the Kingdom of Óir, and are known for their non-stop mining and phenomenal architecture.
Winged Elves - They are taller, quieter, and have an unnatural beauty about them. They have either white or gold wings, either scaled or feathered. They are considered angels, and most treat them like angels. They are extremely peace-loving, and adore most races, except for the Undead and Demons.
Demons - They make up some of the population of the Forsaken. They lack powers, however spread evil to all parts of the land. Some are considered witches, others are not. They look different than the average human, unless classified as an incubus or succubus.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you for reading through the whole thing! I know it is a long set of words, however we are practically done! Just read all the rules, and then post your CS or CP
Rules - Do not be over-powered whatsoever. I will not accept this, nor will tolerate it. You will be immediately kicked or banned from the thread if I, or an admin, has seen it happen.
Kings, Queens, Mages and Archmages are reserved for admins or those who asked to be one (Through a PM, asking on the thread will not be answered). Those who are not admins will go through an interview with me.
Romance and swearing is allowed, however, if you need to get deep in description take it elsewhere. If people are becoming uncomfortable, I will ask you to tone it down.
Character Sheets and Paragraphs will be accepted by me, and only me unless I state otherwise. I am rather strict with these.
Please keep OOC to a minimum through the thread. Start a chat, chatroom, or party if there needs to be discussions. This includes questions, if you have a question about the thread, please PM me or an admin and we will answer.
What I say goes, there is no point in arguing with me on the thread. If you have an issue with a choice I, or someone else, has made, please PM me or put me into a party.
If someone is bothering you, I will take care of it, or an admin will. Please PM us or invite us to a party/chat and we will discuss the issue. You will remain anonymous.
Once again, this is medieval times. Keep the clothing, and weaponry in its time period.
If you have a question, or suggestion, please PM me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ah, we have come to a close! Thank you for reading this far, at this point you can either write a CS or character paragraph.
Character Sheet Name - Age - Race - Class - Which Kingdom are you from? - Personality (This is not needed, as I know it is hard to write these) - Appearance (Describe clothing, also) - Items - Weapons - Do you have any pets? - Bio - Other - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is for Admins only- Admins may not accept any CS, unless I say otherwise. Admins may temporarily ban, or kick, someone from a thread. Admins may add in events that affect everyone’s plotline.
There you go! I will do my Character Paragraph for Amarra after I see a few people submit theirs. I hope you enjoy! |
Weapons - **See items** Do you have any pets? - Yes, Alla has a very fluffy white cat with her. She pampers it to no end. Bio - As a young girl, Alla was given everything she asked for, so she naturally grew up to be a spoiled person. Her parents mysteriously....died on the day after her 18th birthday, making her the heir to the throne. A few months later, she was crowned. Other - Dunno what to put here. |
(Sorry, completely forgot about that. Brain fart.)
Appearance - Alla has curly brown hair, but she changes it very often. Currently, it's extremely long, to fit with the fashion fads in her kingdom. She has regal green eyes, which some say flare up when she's angry. She has a natural pale skin, and despises anyone who insults her. She wears just enough makeup to accentuate her full lips and high cheekbones. Only her closest advisers have ever seen her without it. Some say that she has had...unnatural help with her features, but those voices were soon silenced. |
Name- Torvan Montag
Age - 30
Race - Human
Class - Soldier
Which Kingdom are you from? - Land of Forsaken
Personality (This is not needed, as I know it is hard to write these) - eh screw it
Appearance - Montag is six feet tall, a grave apparition from a life of chaos and death. His face is weathered and wiry, a host for a filthy, scruffy dark brown beard. His dark eyes are sunken into the skull, always searching for something in the distance; his equally dark hair grows in tangles on his head.
Over his body he wears a plain tunic, a pair of brown trousers, and some hobnailed leather boots. Over that, he wears a dirty gambeson. Over all it all, he wears a coat of mail, horn plates set at the chest and arms. The armor is worn, showing dents, scuffs, and cracks from time in combat.
Montag wears on his head a nasal helmet, its right hemisphere dented inwards dangerously close to his actual skull. In cold temperatures, the man usually accompanies his kit with a wool cloak.
Items - A saddlebag of provisions and loot.
Weapons - A war spear, heater shield, and a falchion.
Do you have any pets? - A male courser horse with accompanying saddle, stirrups, and reins.
Bio - Son to a farmer and a potter, he became taken with thoughts of big battles and winning glory and honour. After joining the army, he soon realized the cruel ways of war, and spent his years in service. After learning of his family's demise to the plague, he signed a life time contract with the Kingdom Of Dalerien.
Having been a soldier for the last 8 years, Torvan went from a footman to become an armoured rider of Dalerien's standing army. Torvan was cast out after most of his unit contracted the plague and abandoned outside the Kingdom. Torvan, one of the lucky few who did not succumb to disease, traveled as a mercenary before being hired by an outcast merchant who lived in Forsaken lands.
After completing his escort mission, the man decided to take a life living in the Land of the Forsaken, where he can be around the death that haunted him as a soldier.
Other - None. |
| Alla sat in her throne, twiddling her thumbs. Yet another problem, yet another simple solution. Why didn't everyone see what she saw? Sighing, she dismissed her servants and went out to her balcony. her newly installed, private balcony. There it was. Her Queendom. A simple place, and yet, it takes so much to keep it going. From the daily political issues, to Mother Nature herself rebelling...well, Alla had many problems. She gave the priceless view one last glance, then strode into her bedroom. Best to get her rest now. According to her planner, she was meeting someone important tomorrow. |
Amarra paced in her throne-room. She had so much to do today, letters had to be written, items had to addressed and she had to pass people through inspection. The spreading plague wasn’t helping her anxiety or stress. She turned to her guards who stood near the doors that exited the castle. They nodded their heads as they opened the doors. There was a rather long line of people, some outcasted and others in terrible conditions. She straightened herself up, dropped the expression in her face, and casted her blood-coloured eyes at the first one in line. Her skin was incredibly pale, to the point where it was pure white and contrasted extremely well with her dark-red lips and pitch black hair. She wore a long, elegant black dress that trailed behind her as she walked; lace covering her arms and shoulders. Her strides were long and graceful, along with that they carried strength and maturity. She was rather young, only around nineteen, however she was well-known for her intelligence. She was rather pretty, however the dark aura that surrounded her made most turn the other way, or fear her.
She looked at the old woman in front of her, looking at her eyes, mouth, checking her skin for any boils and making sure she lacked infection. After discussing things, she sent the old woman on her way. She went to the next family, and then the next. Plenty of them were forced to leave, and despite how much she hated it, she had to keep the people true to her heart alive and well. |
Character Sheet
Name - Stuart Wolfe
Age - 28
Race - Human
Class - Paladin
Which Kingdom are you from? - The Kingdom of Dalerien
Personality - Stuart is pious and humble, but not innocent. He tries his best to remain a holy man, such measures will include not spilling blood
Appearance - Stuart is 5'10" and is pale skinned. He has black hair that hangs over his ears. His face is oval-shaped
Stuart, when not wearing his paladin armour (which is not very often,) will wear a white robe and a necklace with a pendant of the sun.
His armour is old and has scratches and the coloring is faded, as it was handed down to him from his father before he passed, and the armor has been traced back to his great-grandfather, a great paladin. His chestplate is white in color and has a large blue sun symbol in the center, spiraling out 16 small flames painted on around it with care, but the fine work has faded a little, so it's hard to see some of these finer details. His pauldrons are truly the most impressive part of his outfit. They stick high up, nearing his chin in height and hanging off the edge of his shoulders for a fair few inches. The pauldrons are white and detailed in swirling blue. His gauntlets are mitten shaped, white in colour. His cowters are white in color and are very flexible. His greaves are white in color and a few metal bands extend from his chestplate that cover the top parts of his legs. He wears leather boots that have a plate of metal over the top of them.
Items - Stuart has a kite shield, White with a blue sun in the center. He also has a set of three horns attached to a leather strap that he wears over his shoulder. The horns are for water. He may also carry some other items in a bag.
Weapons - Stuart has a heavy mace, with no spikes. The mace is detailed in blue.
Do you have any pets? - A Rouncey horse, brown in colour
Bio - Stuart came from a long line of Paladins. When his father passed away, he inherited his father's armor and responsibilities. He lived on a small homestead not too far from Dalarien. He and his father would often ride to the town and his father would teach him the ways of the Wolfe family. Stuart is fairly new to being a paladin, but he's able to use Holy powers and wields a mace and wears armour exceptionally well.
Appearance (Describe clothing, also) - htt p://i .imgur. com / hw7ep4G.gif - he has a black coat with an oversized collar which covers his neck. The collar of the coat is trimmed with gold. His coat has short sleeves and he has a simple, white cloth covering his waist and part of the bottom of his cloak, a bit like a toga. He wears black boots.
Items - Some bread and water.
Weapons - ht tp :// i .imgur. com / VPQTFEG.png
Do you have any pets? - A calico cat.
Bio - Not much is known about Xiro, except for the fact that he has mastered all that is needed to know about dark magic. He is said to be the most evil out of magic users. However, after witnessing the deaths of many others, he learnt the importance of life and he is now roaming the Kingdoms, trying to find someone that will eventually end his life and put him to peace.
Other - Sorry about the rather short CS, I'm pretty tired. I'll try giving more info as I progress through the RP. |
| (I'm going to change my class to a Judge(if I can). Judges are elite guardian of law and order, which gives them effect in the empire's court, and being commanders in the military. So like... Royal Knights.) |
Montag rode through the mountain pass, looking at the milky grey sky through the withering trees. Beside him, the refugee carts rumbled along the trail, driven by men whose names he never cared to learn. Around him were other hired men, some looking alert, others sharing the same haunted look of many these days.
Montag had cruised alongside the carts from the Hornet's mouth all the way into the Fortune Pass, and yet nothing seemed to disturb the eerie dullness that affected everyone on this journey. No one laughed, nor talked--no one felt alive. Nothing had even considered attacking the convoy yes, and it sent a shiver down Montag's spine.
Adjusting the bandana over his mouth, Montag noticed the small plik-pliks of rain, now falling down in a slow drizzle. For a second, he considered taking his cloak out of his saddlebags, then considered against it. Somehow, he felt self-conscious of his actions around these dead people, who never did anything but look straight ahead. Everytime he was hired to go on this escort mission, the people would become more silent and more dead. More refugees would be sick and be denied in front of the Queen.
The plague is killing the land, Montag thought. Not just the people who have it. The rain strengthened, water beginning to drip off the rim of Montag's helmet. And with the rain did the convoy continue its slow, dead crawl towards the Queen of the Land of the Forsaken, who welcomed them for inspection. |
| Alla rose op, and dusted off her nightgown. Another day, another job. Today, she was meeting with someone from the Kingdom of Wings. Hopefully, this time, they'll show up. Alla walked into the dining room, and ordered a servant to bring her her breakfast. As she waited, she signed an agreement with a nearby farmer. In exchange for 10 golden coins a year, this farmer would give her half his bushels (dunno how much corn is worth in this world, for now I'm going with this)of corn. It seemed like a good deal, but Alla had hopes that the corn industry would go down. With the plague killing off people every day - of course, not in HER queendom!- farmers would disappear. |
