I don't want any trolls posting on this but of course now I've said this I'll be greeted kindly by them. Oh well, that stuff will probably happen.
Anyway, I'm gonna start off with a few roleplays on whatever I think of. Please don't judge me too harshly, right?
K.
Right? Got it?
K.
Also, I've not ever really roleplayed on a forum before, I've game-roleplayed, but whatever. It won't be much different, I'm hoping.
Anyway, hello.

Nah. I've heard from... others that this forum was meant to be nice enough.
Better than C&G, anyway. |

Welcome to the Roleplaying forum!
We love new people! It's nice to know, sometimes, that RP is not phazing out of everyday ROBLOX life. A great insult, it was, when they put us at the bottom of the Forums page. You'd think that they'd just delete this section if they wanted it gone, but no. They'd like to see us suffer for our creativity.
RP houses society's future authors and playwrights, and is a place of constantly flowing creativity and ever-growing popularity. Dispite this, there are some things you should know if you dont't want to be shunned by your fellow RPers.
First, NEVER use asterisks to tell what your character is doing. Asterisks are the little stars that you make by pressing SHIFT and 8. When you roleplay in a game, people will commonly say things like: *walks over* hi
Instead, write it like you would see in a book. It might look like this:
As I am walking down the corridor, I see Danielle near the edge of my vision and turn to face her. She waves, and I pause for a moment to gather my thoughts before I return the greeting. "Hi," I say, awkwardly, and instinctively bring the palm of my hand to the back of my neck in a gesture of unease. I smile to defuse the ambient silence and wait for her to say something back.
Do you see how much CLEARER and more EFFICIENT this makes your post? It gathers a lot more meaning into each sentence than the first example.
Secondly, always use functional grammar and punctuation! It's okay to mispell words sometimes, but grammar and punctuation are necessities if you wish to be respected by the roleplaying community. A few easy things to remember are: Always capitalize the first letter of a sentence and end a sentence with a period, put a space after a colon, semicolon, period or comma, remember the difference between " your " and " you're " and " its " and " it's ", and put a blank line between your paragraphs[ this takes the place of indentation, which you can't do on ROBLOX ]. Here's an example of what not to do:
im walk downthe stair and theres abig, door and reach for handle but its loc'ked what a codrumun
Here is an example of what that would have looked like if functional grammar and punctuation are applied, and one misspelled word is corrected:
I'm walking down the stairs when I come across a big door, and reach for its handle only to find that it's locked. "What a conundrum."
Finally, if you're not sure about what to do in a situation that is not listed here, just look around at a few other posts and see if you can find the answer to your question. That can always be helpful.
Once again, welcome to the Roleplaying forum! I hope to see you around. :) |

| Maybe we should talk about some of the acronyms used. I'd love to volunteer stuff, but I have no idea what a 'Mary' is. |

Wifi doesn't like my writing so that why he hates me.
Mary means Mary sue or Gary sue. A Mary sue is in short a perfect character with no weaknesses. |

| Agh, sorry for not replying to any of you. I must sound rude. I'd forgotten all about this thread, so thanks for the welcomes and thanks for the not-so-welcoming replies. |

Hey Anarchistz.
Most of us are welcoming, as long as you post the right things in the right places.
i.e don't post group invitations...
People will be attracted to your roleplay if it has a good story line, plot, nice set of rules, a fine character sheet and plenty to do. |
