| So the only way I've figured out to remove from local render (assuming first person is locked,) is to parent the object to the player's character. The problem is, there's a pretty bad delay between the object being reparented and the objected being de-rendered, and it only gets worse as more players join the game. So how do I de-render an object locally, yet keep it for everyone else to see in an efficient way? |

| I'm not going to answer you until you tell me the reason why you are not using streaming? |

Oh never mind, I misinterpreted your thread. What do you mean, "remove from local render"? Like, the client doesn't render the part? |

Ye, client doesn't render it, but everyone else does.
Like your hats when you zoom in are not rendered. Neither are any descendants of your character while zoomed in. (Even though you can drop your hats while zoomed in, and then they're invisible to your client even if you zoom out. Not sure why roblox hasn't fixed that, but it's irrelevant) |

Yes I know what you mean, well you _could_ create a part in everyone else's camera but that wouldn't be a very good way. But every part in the character is actually rendered, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see a sword when you equip it FP. |

im almost certain they're only rendered if their parent is a tool
and cloning to all client's is not an option in this case because.. too many reasons to explain :u
@phero, odr fite me you noob |

Oh, that would make sense. Well that's pretty much the only way I could think of without local parts without using some sort of haxy method like 'quick re-parenting', which is less efficient to say the least. |

FPS, sniper aiming. During full aim the sniper parented to character and a scope image is placed on screen.
The only other way I can think of would be to lock camera like 5 studs in front of the character's face, but then I'd have to raycast to make sure it doesn't go through walls/blocks... it wouldn't really be efficient |

| Here's one stupid method, you could make all the parts in your sniper collidable so they can't really go through a wall to aim, so you wouldn't have to use raycasting, though if they take their tool out when they're directly behind a wall, they might go flying |

nonono this isn't some kinda scrubby 'how do i scropt i am noob' fps
this is like 'the coolest fps on rerblex'
there are no tools / cancollide parts
y can't roblox just let us control render? we could do blur, camera effects, front-rendering, everything |

Bad enough that I get PMs all the time saying "fix the sniper i cant aim because the scope is in the way"
I made the game a ton more efficient, but with 12 players im pretty sure the delay would be ~1-3 seconds :L
if ya wanna see why cancollide/that stuff won't work im in da server right now |
