If you're like a lot of people, you have gotten a random, undeserving thumbs down on a place that you have worked hard on.
Or made a brilliant forum post that someone posted a nasty reply on.
Or just trolled in general.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I bring you the Roblox Reputation System.
What this would do is allow Website and Game privileges based on the amount of reputation. How this would work is that there would be a "Give Reputation Point" and "Deduct Reputation point" buttons on every user's profile page. Website privileges are awarded depending on how much reputation you have.
Every user starts out with 0 reputation points. This is enough to: Chat freely in game Use the forums Comment Use the Thumbs up system.
You start out with 0 so that people don't start creating alternate accounts to do more bad things if the started out with, for example, 10.
If you fall in the Negative zone (i.e -1, -2, -3), then pretty much the only thing you can do on the website is play games and thumb UP people's games.
Of course, to stop Trolling, there needs to be a penalty for doing bad things to people. For example, thumbing down someone's game. As long as you're giving thumbs down to places, they ought to deserve it, right? What you're saying when you thumbs-down a place is "This place ought to be avoided." And currently, it's no skin off your back whatsoever to do such a thing.
With the new system, it would cost 5 reputation points to thumb down a game. That way, trolls will be discouraged from thumbing down people's games for no reason.
On that note, it would also cost 2 reputation points for Deducting a Reputation point.
To earn reputation, you will probably have to have above-average intelligence. People may give you reputation for: Having a good game Making good forum posts Being a good friend Having a great group Making an awesome model/sound
Another way to earn reputation is by just downright helping people. Thumbing UP a person's games is helping them. (Although, you may not always want to help someone.)
A new system would also be thumbs up/thumbs down on forum posts, and comments. Obviously thought of before, but useful. Just the same as thumbing up/down games, you would get/lose reputation the same way.
With a high enough reputation, these are some privileges that might be granted. -Able to edit forum posts (Keep in mind that people would need REALLY high reputations to get these privileges) -Able to moderate images/sounds/other things -Maybe even an exchange of Reputation for Cash, similar to the Dev-Ex system.
Now, before you get mad at me, these people would be hand-picked by the admins of Roblox. They have tools that can track who has the highest reputation on Roblox, so they can find good, trustworthy people to help in their work.
In conclusion, this system is necessary for Roblox because it would -Discourage Roblox trolling. -Give the good people more respect. -Perfect the thumbs up/thumbs down system.
Tl:DR : A system that would grant users website privileges based on their reputation. |

| @Da1, then you obviously didn't read the whole thread because this would already account for that. |

Trolls make people laugh.
ROBLOX has made a troll mask before.
Do you really think they'll implement this?
