The PBSC Initiative is a program to allow for an atmosphere of co-op stamper build with some studio perks. It also allows for a system to keep out the majority of grievers.
The plan is based of of personal experience with free build servers, where people would enter, get tools, flood, and leave. My first free build server resutled in several shutdowns, due to this. I lost many people who truly wanted to build with others, and meet possibly building partners. After I adopted RPST (http://www.roblox.com/item.aspx?setItemId=13084457&avID=253406413) because of its ability to clear an entire map, terrain and all, with the click of a button. It also had the ability to allow you to set the hight and size of a new baseplate. RPST resulted in people staying longer, and though they may have lost builds, there was no more spam. I eventually added a teleporting system that prevented people from falling to their deaths within a certain area(2048*2048 standard brick size) and a club house. However, I decided, this was not enough. That there is something better. And thus, PBSC was born(Technically in 2013, however I had school and I am now dedicating my time to this.).
With the new terrain's scale, and the plan of bringing 100 player servers to roblox, I have ideas, that would require feed back.
First off, so people can get around easyer, I would like feed back on these 4 main transportation ideas:
1] Teleportation, with my idea of dividing areas into provinces, this seams reasonable. 2] Ferry, have large ferry boats with a wide and deep river or two. 3] Trains, this also seems good. 4] Highways, for buses and cars. This would introduce the allowing for people to become certified bus drivers or get driving licenses.
Second off, I will need terrain for people to build on, as this is a given. I have 3 ideas: 1] Just a huge flat baseplate maybe a hundred blocks thick.This would be boring. 2] Have terrain with deserts, plains, mountains, etc. 3] Ether one of these in a long strip or a square(more land)
Third off, I will need admins and office workers to run this without driving my self to insanity. As of now, I will be running a small server with basic amenities until the primary server is finished, which will serve as a template for all servers. I will need desk workers, managers, supervisors, etc.
I will be tracking this post and taking ideas.

You know, my good friend Walyn has a great way to protect PBS' by simply adding in a simple rule.
Nobody gets tools. If anyone wants tools, they either have to know him well enough, or compete in a challenge.
It weeds out all the impatient players, and results in players who actually try hard and are smart. |

| It's easy to make scripts to mod the stamper tool so it makes a max terrain-insert area (to stop spam) and to take away the experimental set or all other sets you don't want to use. |

| I think the idea of vehicles and drivers' licenses is good, but this would be changing it from a PBS, to a modern sort of RPG, or a form of Robloxity. Good idea, though. |

| What I didn't include because I didn't want this thing post to be huge, is the fact I am going to be working on a membership system that works in the game, allowing the saving of logs and other things. |

To the person saying we "toxic percentage" ruin it, There is nothing specially shown here, it's a build server, with transportation. Whoop de doo. It shows in no way how this improves PBS. It's just got big area, and transport, nothing helpful is explained or shown |

The full list of ideas:
4 tier membership system. Staff system. Huge as heck map. Transportation systems of the community's liking to help get around such a huge map. Provinces to help organize the map. Anti-fall to death systems(done) Anti grieving systems(explosion and hat clean up, done.) Nice terrain. No premium members from idiot.com spamming up my forum post with "gtfo's" and arguments that make no sense.(hint.Hint.HINT.) |

I have decided on how the map and transportation systems will be: 1] The map will be a large square with varying zones of terrain, such as mountains and plains. 2] There will be at least two major city zones, which will have a special protection system to prevent PVP by anyone other then admins. 3] The transportation methods will be: large river ferries, a train(connecting two cities together.), and highways for cars, busses, etc. 4] There will be one major office for PBSC staff and possibly 1 small officer in each province.
There will be more news later.

This isn't just a plain old server. This is a system of checks and balances and if people are responsible, it will run smoothly.
Our government has a system of checks and balances as well. |
