Ok everyone know's who xLegox A.K.A Stravant is..
But my question is how long has he been coding!? because oh my lord his code for his Persistent noise generation Terrain generation is the craziest thing I've ever seen! The math behind all that is such a headache and so confusing! Idk how he learned it all! So does anyone know how long he has been programming for?? |

My guess is 9-7 years.
There are posts by him here that suggest that he once didn't know how to program, but Roblox only existed after 2005. These same posts suggest he was learning at the time. |

Yes, it's 10x longer than it has to be. |

| Most of us are around 20-30, and we went to college to study Lua...if you're only 16 that may be a bit of a problem, but there's no reason why you can't learn. |

IIRC he said Roblox Lua was his first language and he joined in late 07.
So six point something years maximum. |

Wut? I'm pretty sure that number is off by 10 to 20 years. Most of the people I've seen on here are not that old... |

| I am 16 and I have only been scripting for around 2ish years, 3 with the extra year it took to get enough down to actually code on my own instead of just edit. |

| I began picking up Lua when I was 12. After reading and coding in Lua for the past 4 years (in my case), you get pretty good at it. Experience and knowledge is key to becoming a decent scripter. (Relative to your field, of course-- web development and application development are pretty different from one another. Both take practice in their own respect.) |

I started programming when I was 9. I used QBasic, it was pretty fun, but kind of annoying. Then I moved to Java because I wanted to mod MC. From Java I realised how much it didn't teach me about programming, and then I spent a few years trying to do low-level stuff. I got into TTL for a bit. As you can imagine, wire-wrapped TTL is not all that fun, and takes a while to get working properly.
Now, I can probably tell you how every piece of the computer works, what it does, and how it is important.
I need to stop rambling, as I had no point in writing this. :c |

Java is not a bad language to learn from. It has a strong OOP interface. It's not as if you'll find any OOP language that'll teach you everything about hardware architecture, algorithm development, etc.
A student's job is to learn, not to be taught. |
