| How do you make a propeller in water, instead of paddles or something? Is it possible? |

| ...thats...the...least...useful...advice...ever. I can use vehicleseats. It's basic. I mean PROPELLERS. That says nothing about my topic. |

I tried making propellers in water, but a VehicleSeat doesn't recognize hinges on the back of a boat, just the sides. You could script motors to turn with the seat, but I don't know if they have made it so that propellers with angled blades will work in Terrain water. I may try a propeller hinged to an anchored brick in terrain water with a current in it to see if it spins. |

This is a scripting problem
Basically, a propeller in roblox wouldn't do much and you need to use a vehicle seat and a script that uses the user input from the seat (Such as throttle) and a bodyvelocity in order to control the boat how you want. |

Yup, I put a prop (1 2x2x2 brick with 4 .2 thick vanes on the sides at 45 degrees, supported by 2 anchored bricks with hinges) in water bricks and set the water force to medium then hit Play. 'Great, it spins!' I thought. But as I have been disappointed in the past I tried changing the water force direction (+ and - in the x,y,and z axes) and every time the prop kept spinning when I hit play, until the hinges 'failed' and the prop started to just bounce around. |

| See if it works on the side of a vehicleseat. (I hate the "nothing works on front or back" thing....) |

I don't know about on a boat, I only tried it in water with a Force in it. The best way to try it would be to get a car driving script (try a free model scripted car, just be careful) that uses motors in the wheels for movement, then put them on the back of your boat and put angled bricks on.

| It has to have a VehicleSeat, but the seat has to have a script in it to drive the motors on the back of the car. |

It works! Check this baby out:

I made it free for all to take. You can inspect the script to see how it works. |

| That's amazing! Thanks! Mind if I modify the script, give credit, and use it in a large ship and a few other things? |

Go ahead, the script was actually from one of TakeOverTom's free suspension vehicles, but I modified it a bit. I like how it skids when steering. Should make a drift car out of it! |

| This info is INCREDIBLY helpful because I'm about to own a island based nation group. Time to build some ships and look at some tutorials! |

If you go to my Island place, there are 3 boats there. The one with props is prop driven. The sailboat and other boat have paddles. One of the problems with paddles is they can sometimes drive on shore, so I had to put parts under the boat to stop that. The seat script in the sailboat to keep you standing I got from NVI. |
