So now that all 3 consoles have been out for a while I am seeing that this generation will be STUPID. Before you disagree, let us look at this generation so far...this generation will be the worst.... Two reasons. The developers and some of you guys who defend BS.
I am already underwhelmed with all 3 systems. I love Nintendo, and they are my favorite, and I remember in 2011 when they showed all this cool stuff with the Gamepad, and barely any games support the Gamepad beside ZombiU and Game and Wario.
With the PS4 and Xbox One all the games just look like prettier last gen games. And looking at the developers, we got crap like GTA Online, and Battlefield 4 online which got a lawsuit! Rockstar was smart delaying online so they can get acclaim and get all these sales, and then launch an online not working! Battlefield 4 has broken game modes and connectivity issues... And people defend the game... Xbox One launches and literally all the freaking games have micro transactions. PAY TO WIN. You really want to win the game? Oh just lay down five bucks and get an OP weapon to win. So this is why.
The developers are getting worse making crap decisions and some of you guys just empower their BS. And this gen still feels like an extension for prettier graphics like I said. Now I want prettier graphics considering how much I am paying for a console I want better graphics. However what about gameplay and thinking about what could have not been done on last gen hardware.
Looking back is where my disappointment in Nintendo is where they usually innovate gameplay, but haven't really done it yet. This gen is overhyped and you guys raptures yourself in graphics. Now those of you who bought a PS4 or Xbox One at launch which isn't bad and those of you who are just fans of Sony or Microsoft and you buy it to support them. I understand.
However, a lot of you bought this system because you were hyped for the graphics. I'm wrong? There are a lot of PS4 owners that don't own Killzone or Knack. When I watched the PS4 launch premerie on Game Trailers and there were interviews of people and lots said I am buying it for Ghosts. Buying a game that is just prettier in next gen hardware. Now we got people saying they got bore with there systems and that's what happens when you get caught up in graphical hype.
Developers now they can make a pretty game and it will sell because of the consumers. If the developers know all they have to do is make a commercial with guns and explosions and pretty graphics and set pieces, that is all they will do. Take Crytek which makes beautiful games, but most of there gameplay is garbage beside Crysis 1. Which is ridiculous because it was a 2007 game.
Now I'm not saying you should not deprive yourself from buying a game you really what. For example, I was saying 3D World should have online and people said out your money where your mouth is. I still want it though just saying it would be better with online. Plus I would not use my Wii U for another month again.
You can still buy a game and tell a developer what your are doing is BS and they will fix it. And why am I negative? Because I need to make up the lack of it because a lot of gamers just take what is given to them. Gamers haven't been critical of developers and the industry. I do give props to the Sony fan base to making some features the PS4 was going to exclude featured.
Also people who slammed the Xbox One, although most was hatred. All we are going to get is incomplete games, games with day one patches and all of (that should have been patched before the game was released) that, too much dlc, and more. ______________________________________________________________________________ For everyone saying it's too early to tell because the systems just came out, ya'll do realize that 90% of my points had to do with developers and gamers' mindsets, right? Which have almost NOTHING to do with the newness of consoles.
I didn't say this gen would be the worst because of the ACTUAL systems, I said it would because of the developers and gamers.
^ This was added. Here is a for dummies version though for misreaders: 1. Increasement of milking DLC, Stupid micro transactions, DLC that could actually be part of the game 2. Gamers accepting mediocrity, Gamers accepting BS 3. Developers getting lazier because gamers keep accepting BS becoming easier to please, Developers releasing incomplete games RESULTING in lots of patches 4.Shady pricing modules 5. BARELY any new innovation (I said barely NOT all)

@Badass No I didn't. I didn't even know you posted a version. I just read like the first 5 posts today and saw complaints of consoles being new and paragraphs. So I just threw this together.
Also I do agree about paragraphs. Sorry about that... |

Battlefield 4? Network problems? Eh, you know nearly 6 million people need to be able to access the online component, right? You do know that maintaining game servers isn't as easy or cheap as web servers? I appear to be making excuses, I know, but I haven't played any Battlefield game in my life. All I know is that when there are that many servers you'll need a crazy amount of resources if it's going to run at all. Additionally, there's one more factor of realism to add here. When you're developing the game, you don't have 6 million people around the world testing the network component, so it's going to have some problems for a while, and of course some blame rests with the devs, but you can't expect it to work like magic all the time. I'm not even defending Battlefiled 4 exclusively here, actually. Tons of games have this problem, but why? I think it's probably close to what I reasoned above. |

@awsum Battlefield 4 was riddled with bugs and multiple other problems, including downloadable content that allowed players access to more levels of the game, a myriad of connectivity issues, server limitations, lost data and repeated sudden crashes, among other things; (b) as a result, Electronic Arts would not achieve a successful holiday season 2013 rollout of Battlefield 4; (c) the performance of the Electronic Arts unit publishing Battlefield 4 was so deficient that all other projects that unit was involved in had to be put on hold to permit it to focus its efforts on fixing Battlefield 4; and (d) as a result, Electronic Arts was not on track to achieve the financial results it had told the market it was on track to achieve during the Class Period. |

In my defense, I will quote my earlier post.
"and of course some blame rests with the devs" "I'm not even defending Battlefiled 4 exclusively here, actually. Tons of games have this problem"
I'm just talking about network stuff in general, which interests me because I'm a programmer. I'm only saying that there's some bit of evidence of something to be found in a trend.
Maybe networks stuff is bad because publishers rush games, or maybe it's for my reasons. It's very likely both, because we've been seeing both happen as of late. |

Don't you wish people cared more about gameplay and plot? |
