I think with examples like Batman, most famous for it. Strider isn't famous for mangas, he's famous for video games. Batman isn't most famous for video games, he's most famous for comic books. And other examples go here. |

| A video game character is mostly decided by the point of view of the creators and the fans. Batman is mostly considered (in my opinion) as a comic/tv character. Another example would be Goku- he appeared in video games, but it mostly recognized as a manga/anime character. So I would say it depends on the amount of times they appeared as a video game / cartoon,comic, anime character. |
