I was fat. Not just fat but obese. At March of 2013 I was 5ft7 at 230 pounds. I have tried losing weight on prior occasions but was full of fat-logic that I thought diet wasn't that important when needing to lose weight and it was mostly exercise with removing 1 or 2 unhealthy things from your daily intake. Boy I WAS WRONG.
I educated myself on how to actually get healthy. Removed soda completely from my diet. It's worthless and has no beneficial vitamins in it at all. I only drink water, tea, and milk now. Then stopped eating fast food, with an exception for Subway. As well as shrinking the mammoth like portions I was eating. Too put the final cherry on top, I replaced the bad salty snacks and sugary sweets for fruits and nuts.
I started to stop eating the terrible breakfasts and lunches that I was eating at my school. And replacing some bread stuffed in cheese thing with stuff like bagels, cereal, eggs, and yogurt. Something fast because I had to be at school for class at 7:05 AM. I find myself lucky that my school made handmade pizza and salads for lunch instead of the school made hot dogs, pizza, and hamburgers.
While I transformed my diet, I also got off my couch and started playing Soccer again. Even when none of my friends were there to play. I just spent my time practicing. When my knees were tired I biked, when my ankles were tired I swam.
After a while I noticed that my weight was dropping to what I am now. Which is standing 5ft7, weighing a healthy 143 pounds. |

| Not really. My loose skin is minimal and barely noticeable. The stretchmarks though.... I am currently using oils to remove that ugly stuff. |

| Dropping soda was actually the easiest thing to drop. Since I hated the taste of Coca Cola and Pepsi, and only drank Mountain Dew and flavored soft drinks (orange soda, grape soda). |

Btw. Any suggestions on how to bulk up? I lifted weights sophomore year but didn't eat enough protein to really obtain gains. |

| Extem, my metabolism is actually pretty fast. It was just I ate so badly even a good paced metabolism couldn't help. In fact, I think I got fat because of a fast food addiction when I was in middle school. |

Bulking up takes a lot of work, even for a HS football player.
3-5 days a week running and doing workouts, lifting weights are not everything. 1 protein shake a day goes a LONG way, there are a lot of essential vitamins in those, Gatorade or Powerade, limit those. Water is the absolute best thing to drink during workouts. Running is the best way to keep in shape, run more and more each time, weights do help you keep in shape but you need to get there first. A BIG thing honestly is the stuff you wear when you workout, wear really light weighted shorts, shoes, and shirts when you workout. Get a subscription to a nice local gym or recreational center. And join some school sports, that always helps. |

| I used to be in the same boat, I was around 215. My Army recruiter told me I weighed too much so we worked on shaving some pounds off me and I got down to 156 when I went to Pittsburgh for my physical and stuff. |

I already run. My friend wants me to join Cross Country with him. So that is fine, and I hate Gatorade/Powerade. So that stuff is easy.
So basically just add some more protein and protein shakes into my diet. And lift more. |

| Good. Cross Country helps. I'm in the best shape of my life. Or at least I was.... Until the season ended. |

"I wanted to have a career in sports when I was young, but I had to give it up. I'm only six feet tall, so I couldn't play basketball. I'm only 190 pounds so I couldn't play football and I have 20-20 vision so I couldn't be a referee."-Jay Leno |
