(Chapter One)

I woke up in an alleyway. How i ended up in that alleyway i couldn't remember. Something about a man with a walking stick. I stand, and being me, i continued on with my life. Things like this had happened so many times over the years, i was used to them. I exited the alleyway and look around. I didn't recognize the area, but that didn't bother me. I had woken up in China once. THAT had been a mess. I walked over to an intersection, hands in the pockets of my jeans, and look up at the street sign. Baker's Street. I turned south and continued down the road. In a matter of 2 hours, i reached home. I walked through the door and my mother asked,
"Where was it this time?"
She didn't sound mad or upset. She had the first few times, but she was used to it now.
"An alleyway on Baker's Street." I said. I looked around the room. There was a couch against the wall across from me, and a hallway branching off into the Kitchen and kids playroom. A fireplace was set into the wall on the right, and a bathroom was to the left. I hung up my coat and walked through the hallway, into the kitchen were my mother was stirring some Creamy Wheat, a kind of warm cereal. It was also my favorite. I sat down and waited. I heard the stairs creak just as two little kids ran into the room, wrestling with eachother to get in first. I smiled. "Where you been, Tommy?" Jessica asked. She was 5, with blond hair tied in pigtails and blue eyes. "On Baker's Street." I answered, just as 3 year old Parker began screaming at me. "HI TOMMY!" He yelled. I chuckled. He didn't know how to NOT be loud. "Hi, Parker." They clambered onto their seats just as breakfast was served. I ate happily, thanked my mother, then headed upstairs. I passed 3 doors, all bedrooms, and one open doorway leading into the Media Room. I continued down the hall until i reached the end of it. A final door was there, the door to my room. I opened it and walked in. The room was decently clean, there was walking space to anyplace you might want to see, but there were crafts, documents and little kid toys-Parker and Jessica sometimes played in there-in the corners and under the bed. I grabbed my laptop-a Windows 8 Dell Inspiron-off the dresser and sat down on the bed to research. I was a special case with school. Everyone knew that i couldn't be to school when regular students where-except a few cases in which i woke up right next to home or right next to school-So i had until 11:00, then i would take the regular lessons and a few private ones after 3:30. I had plenty of time to research, and so he did. I didn't think much about waking up on Baker's Street. It happened every morning now. Before it had been every few weeks, but it was getting worse. So i researched. I had tried tying myself to the bed, or sleeping outside, anything you could think of. Nothing worked. So i didn't think about it. Maybe it was sleepwalking, though i kept remembering this man with a walking stick when i woke. As an absent thought, i looked up Sleepwalking. It said nothing about a man with a walking staff. I tried to conjure up the image of the man, so i could try to create an accurate representation of him on paper or the Paint program, but it was blurry. The only thing that stuck out was... There was a red orb on top of the staff. I stared at my mind's image. The walking stick suddenly looked like a magical staff. I continued looking at it, searching for more oddities. Suddenly Parker screamed "TOMMY IS ON FIRE!" The image vanished, and i looked down. Flames inveloped the laptop, touching my clothes and arms. I screamed, though i didn't feel any heat. But that was impossible! I picked up the laptop and threw it on the ground. It couldn't be saved anyway, the thing was on fire! The carpet caught flame. I grabbed a blanket and began dousing the flames, but it didn't work. "GO OUT, YOU STUPID FLAMES!" I screamed. They went out. I gasped. It just went out. I looked at the carpet. Completely unscathed. The laptop screen was broken off and pieces of glass were scattered around it, but the flames were gone. I looked down at my clothes. They felt cool, and they weren't burned. I was probably going crazy. This couldn't be possible.

(Chapter Two)

I woke up in my bed, and almost screamed again. That NEVER happened. It was always at least 50 feet away from where i went to sleep. Suddenly everything was odd. I could start random fires, put out random fires with thought, and suddenly i have normal sleeping habits. WHY NOW? I went down the stairs to find my mother getting out cereal. She turned around and jumped. "Where'd you wake up this time? Next door?" She asked.
"No. My bed." I replied, taking the cereal box and pouring myself some.
"What did you say? I don't think i heard right. Did you say you woke up in YOUR BED?" She asked, aghast.
"Yup."
"Okay..." She said, leaning on the table. I conjured up the image of the man again, this time my hands in the air. I focused on the orb and opened my eyes. My mother was staring wide-eyed at my hands. I looked up. Two large flames danced in my palms. I willed them to go out. They did. I gasped. I looked at the orb again, an my hands burst into flame. I put them out and rushed upstairs.

(Chapter Three)

I woke up in my bed again. I didn't have the urge to scream this time. It was day 4 of waking up in my bed. I was used to it. Not as much as I had gotten used to waking up in alleyways, hotel rooms and other people's homes-that had been really embarrassing the few times it happened-but it was comfy. I got up and went down the stairs, summoning fire and putting it out as i went. It had become easier-I just had to think of the orb and the flames appeared-and i had accepted it, just like all the oddities. I checked outside and smiled. It was snowing. I hadn't noticed the chill air the days before, thinking too much about fire and teleporting, but the snow reminded me. 5 days until christmas. I had breakfast, studied with my new computer i had bought a few days ago, and went to school. It was a good day. That is, until my house was leveled.

I stepped out of the bus and walked down the street, watching the cars go by. It was about 5 minutes before i reached the house. The door was locked. I slipped the key out of my coat pocket and unlocked the door, kicking the snow off my shoes. The door unlocked and i entered to find no one home. Fine with me. I headed upstairs and fired up Battlefield 4. I put on my Turtle Beach headphones and began playing, taking out opponents and blasting buildings to the ground. I didn't hear the rumbling outside. There were plenty of explosions, gunfire and and rumbling coming from the game. Then it hit. I was sitting in an armchair, filling some dudes head with M4 lead when suddenly i was flying through the air. My laptop was gone, my headset was gone, and the floor, walls and roof were gone. The seat was gone. I slammed into the ground and suddenly felt pain. My ears began ringing, and my eyes filled with black spots. I sat there, lying on the ground, for what felt like days. My vision finally cleared and i looked up at the sky. Snow fell onto my face . I tried to get upend was met with pain in my left leg. Snow almost covered me. Had I been there for days?It at least had been hours. I forced myself into a sitting position and gaped at my house. Or what was left of it. A few charred pieces of wood stuck out in the corners and along where the walls had been. and a few floor tiles and bits of carpet. Cement and wood piled on top of the rubble and lay scattered around it. I felt a bit of relief when i remembered i had been the only one inside, then collapsed and slipped into unconsciousness.
