This will work for every forum, the ability to lock a thread. (Op only)
It quite simply works by clicking an unlocked padlock located somewhere on the thread changing it to a locked padlock. Once locked it can not be unlocked again, so be careful and be sure.
You would tend to use this when your question has been successfully answered or your opinion/suggestion/idea etc. has been successfully countered, changing your opinion.
This would stop players from 'necrobumping' threads that have already passed. (Perhaps someone made a bad suggestion, someone else replied and changed his/her mind, then suddenly another player seems to was to input his/her own opinion as well, even if you already agree.) This is what's roughly refereed to as 'preaching to the converted'.
Threads will continue to be pushed until out of site but can not be bumped back up again. (It doesn't stop the thread from moving all together.)
I hope you like my suggestion. Supports are appreciated.
Thank you for reading.

I agree with you.

Some people are slow then they realize they did something stupid and can't recant their actions. |

I support. I've been trying at my hardest to pick a flaw out of this suggestion (don't take it personal, I do it to all suggestions) and I haven't came up with one yet. The only flaw I've came up with is the possibility of spamming then locking threads. But then again, that would happen either way with or without this feature and is barely relavent. Enough of my rambling, hoohaha! |
