1. insert a model
2. insert a part with sounds
3. insert a bunch of sounds in the part
4. put the model in the camera

play solo: sounds stay in the part.
server: sounds get completely removed.

and this is why i get nothing done on ROBLOX.

Oh, I agree, there are so many errors with stuff parented to camera. I've recently been working on a project and about 1/3 of the time I've spent on it so far was ironing out bugs caused by ROBLOX.

I'm pretty sure if you die and you're parented to the camera it won't reset you and LoadCharacter doesn't work in this situation either. I couldn't use the Died event to detect when the character died either. I had a loop checking the person's health and when it said it was at 0 I parented the player to the workspace then used LoadCharacter()

Maybe that will help you in the future or maybe someone knows of a more efficient way to accomplish this? We really need better support for localized stuff.

keep in mind that using the camera for client replication isn't supported

hopefully, with the recent focus on developers, we'll get get an actual full-featured method

that's not going to happen.

it has been referenced mutliple times by ROBLOX that local parts "are not supposed to be a part of the game" and that the camera "is not supposed to have parts in it, that's an ugly hack".

they say that garbage and proceed to develop a 3D inventory dependent on local parts in "ROBLOX Battle".

i have no idea what is going through their heads regarding this subject.mwe probably will be stuck with parenting stuff into camera and all the really specific/really major glitches involved.

I think it will happen eventually. They seem to be updating and adding features quite often these days. They also opened up Rbx Dev so that developers can talk with the staff. I'm sure we aren't the only people who want better local support. When they realize that they can make more money off of having a local part container, they'll make it.

@AbsoluteLOL, just a friendly reminder about you saying "This is spam. Reported."

roblox Rules and ToS say that when you report someone, you aren't supposed to tell them, as it is likely to cause a flame war, even on comments. Like, if I say "@Absolute, That was spam. Reported" you would probably flame at ME [because I have not a strong footing in this sub-forum].

Next time, keep your thoughts to yourself when it comes to reporting spam; the Mods/Admins will remind the person of what they did that was wrong on the Moderation panel, and when they are banned, they'd know not to do it again.

Didn't you had to put the sound into your PlayerGui to make it local? Well, if you worry about the part getting closer ECT effect, make it like: check for the camera position how close the part you desire to have it sound, and the equation you need for the volume is volume = basevolume - magnitude

That's the only way I think...
