Super TL:DR Version: Spend R$/Tickets to make hats/gear look cooler/prettier.
So you want flames or sparkles or other graphical effects on your hats/gear, but can't find a game that will throw out a giver that will do so? I will introduce an item type called "Enchantments" as the solution to that problem.
Here is how it will work: It's like a Website Consumable. You buy one enchant to place on one hat/gear, and it expires when you run out. It can be bought multiple times in advance, as many as you want. Yes, you can hoard enchantments. These are the kind of item that is not meant to be won from contests or made unavailable, all will be available to purchase. They will show up in ROBLOX Studio as children to Hats/Tools.
Now let's get to applying it. In your inventory, there will be an icon on your hats/gear that will allow you to enchant them. Click on the icon to create a choice box: "Do you want to enchant this item? Yes/No." Clicking on No will close it. Clicking on Yes will bring you to a page containing your selected hat/gear and a list of your available enchantments. Click on the enchantment you want to apply to your hat/gear, and another choice box will say: "Do you want to apply this enchantment? Yes/No." Clicking on Yes will use up one copy of that enchantment and infuse your hat/gear with magical properties, and clicking on No will close the box and let you pick another one.
This will apply wherever you go. No need for a giver or a game/universe-only script. You can stack enchantments on your hat/gear, up to a determined by ROBLOX amount. You can toggle applied enchants on/off, and toggling them off will not destroy the enchantment from your hat. If you want to destroy an enchantment on your hat, you will have to disenchant it. Disenchanting an item is similar to destroying a hat/gear, click on the gear and click "Disenchant Item". Click on the specific enchantment you want to destroy, and another Yes/No choice box will pop up, saying "Do you want to get rid of this enchantment?". As usual, clicking on Yes will get rid of that specific Enchantment. Also as usual, clicking on No will close the box and do nothing.
Now go and impress your friends!
This is the end of the idea. As usual, if you don't like the idea, please do the following: 1. Post constructively. 2. If you can help it, don't post. |

| Sounds interesting, but particle effects on too many users in a single server could affect how smooth the game runs. |

| To use what Legobotron said to strengthen the original post, maybe a limit of three enchantments per item? That and make them eternal, since buying something, say, once a week, would get 1. Repetitive and 2. Expensive. |

| Giacomo, why don't YOU love reading the name of an idea instead of paying attention to the concept of it? It's adding special VISUAL effects, not doing stuff like "Thorn IV" or "Silk Touch". |

Well there is a problem with that, for one I used "is this minecraft?" as an example of how many games roblox rips off. For another I do know what it's about, it's about adding little decorations to your hats and gear. How is this like minecraft a game I have never even played before that I wish to use in my argument like an idiot? Well the thing is, is that in minecraft when you add an enchantment, your item flashes and it becomes more powerful or efficient in some sort of way. If this were added you would add designs to your hat to more efficiently express your sense of fashion. See. Now before you accuse me of anything else analyse the posts I posted, and think "What truthfully can be criticized here?"
Thanks for reading if you did.
I would posts 500 posts and hour to post 500 more. |

| My apologies (I sometimes get carried away). Nairb's suggestion is an idea about cosmetic enhancements, though I can see your perspective of it. |

@Herobrine
1. You have a limited number of enchantments. No lag.
2. Then don't look at them.
3. No (Does not enhance performance) and No (I'm not renaming my hat/gear when I'm enchanting it). |

Hmm.
There are a few items made specifically for sparkling (http://www.roblox.com/Fall-Fairy-item?id=128217885) which... :/
Ah well, I'll support. Why not just outright do full on retextures though/as well?
So, people who have a hat can upload a retexture of that hat, and you can buy retextures. People can then sell retextures as well, making some profit. |

| I support. But instead of enchant it should be called Upgrade. And I think it will be fair if you can either spend robux OR tix to upgrade your stuff. |

Although there can be slight lag problems I still believe this won't EVER be implemented. Personally, Roblox doesn't have time to add this. They already have glitches to worry about such as the extremely common friends being online when their really offline glitch. Heres a good list of why this shouldn't be implemented.
. Slight Lag Increase
. Roblox will a slight % money, even though this is quite greedy they need to be greedy to keep Roblox alive.
. Roblox has more vital issues to attend to
. Having these enchantments takes a LOT of time to develop. You'd have to have these enchantments load onto the hat when you enter the game which will possibly bring up a lot more glitches later in the future
. About 48% of Roblox will consider this where we are starting to copy Minecraft (My Closest Percentage)

@ChainedChaos
1. I agree that the idea is a lesser update and that there are bigger things to worry about, but it could be like a side project, like most of the Hack Week stuff.
2. Tone graphics down.
3. I'd rather have this than Price Floor, to be honest.
4. See 1.
5. It wouldn't take that much coding, all it will do is check if a hat was enchanted, and then add a "particle child" to the hat if true. The framework is already there, as frozengaia mentioned.
6. Read this: http://blog.roblox.com/2012/07/exploring-a-crafting-system-in-roblox/
And not necessarily copying Minecraft. The statistic used to support "Copying Minecraft" would be true of Minecraft fan-games/thumbnails on the front page, not Crafting or Enchanting. |

Yes, I think god exists. I don't know much about him/her/it, however.

| Spacegang, I'm just saying it could cause some more lag if there were many people using it; many users' computers already have to deal with running games the smoothest they can. |

@Lego
That's correct even with graphics down it depends. Although he won't listen it doesn't make a difference since their not adding this.

@ChainedChaos
I need to see definitive proof. A tweet, a video, anything, to show that they are not adding this idea at all.
