Maybe in the US that uses the 7 continent system. The rest of the world uses the 6 continent system: The Americas Europe Africa Asia Australia Antarctica
Also, the only difference between the North American and South American continents are the Anglo and Latin culture. |

"The Americas" Americas is plural. If it were one continent it wouldn't be plural. Therefore, North America and South America are separate. |
