You can get enough electricity to a house with solar panels. Sure, it's expensive and would take up your whole roof, but that's why we need the government to subsidize it and companies should mass produce it. Then it wouldn't be anywhere near as expensive and it would free homeowners who do it from electrical bills.
We need to move away from fossil fuels.
I mean, look at the current ways we're getting power. 1. Factories that burn fossil fuels and pollute the atmosphere. 2. Nuclear reactors where the radioactive waste is "temporarily" stored. It's so stupid how we store nuclear waste. The waste has to be constantly maintained or else it will start killing everyone.
Obviously we will eventually run out of fossil fuels, and with nuclear reactors, we'll eventually run out of the resources to maintain this nuclear waste. Or it will be like Japan were some natural accident damages the waste facility and all hell breaks loose. |

Excess energy can be put into massive batteries which the energy can be distributed from at night

Yeah. That's usually how they do it. There's a lot more ways to get energy, though.
There was even this one school that powered all their lights by panels they placed in the halls. The students walking through the halls and on the panels would generate electricity and power the lights.

| My grandfather has solar panels on the roof of his house. Works perfectly, actually. He also saves over £100 on electricity bills. |

I agree. They should really enforce solar panels & windmills. Then hydrogen wouldn't be a bad idea, once we're settled with natural. |

@chika
The only thing about windmills is that they take up a lot of land and don't produce much power.
And speaking of hydrogen, the Honda FCX Clarity has a hydrogen fuel cell. |
