In my school, the teachers are all motivated and actually like coming to school every day to teach kids. The kids are also more respectful and actually listen to their teachers. It's all a safe and friendly environment. Most of the people get good marks.
This is in stark contrast to public school, where teachers always whine about wanting a pay raise, and just let the internet teach kids instead of them. The kids in public school were rude, disrespectful, apathetic to learning.
While this only represents two specific schools, I think it mostly accurately represents the divide between the superior private school and inferior public school. Honestly, I wish we could just get a voucher program and disband the DoE and watch American education become likeable again.
What is your school like, and is it private or public? |

Mine's a Public School, and in all honesty, I hate it. My parents are very strict and supportive of my education, and I hope to get a place in a Private or even Grammar School one day. The education IS better there. My public school is really bad. The locals are chavs and basically the whole school is chav dominated. |

Public school! Some teachers are whining about too low wage! They get paid for age and not for performance! And some teachers are counting the days for the next holiday! |

"MPS results overall showed 59% of students scoring proficient or better in reading, while 47.8% of students scored proficient or better in math.
In the voucher program, 55.2% of students scored proficient or better in reading while 34.4% of students scored proficient or better in math.
The percentage of low-income students in MPS proficient or better in reading - 55.3% - was about the same as the voucher program, which currently serves only low-income students."
MPS apparently is Milwaukwee Public Schools |

| I'd prefer homeschooling because I'm anti-social. |

| Here in England, it's different. Public teachers aren't treated like dirt, our curriculum is OK (god forbid what Michael Gove does next), and a lot has been invested into our public system so that the people with not so much money can actually have an education. |
