In their defense, the first wave of consoles normally have serious glitches. However, Nintendo ensures quality in their systems, and they don't get the credit they deserve. |

Why do Microsoft and Sony always realise the first few consoles like this?! They need to test these things!

nothing new here, a few people's hardware doesn't work... just like every other piece of consumer tech ever released.
thankfully Sony (and probably MS) replace it for free |

@8bit
I'm pretty sure they do "test" them but very briefly so they can rush them out around Black Friday and Christmas.

@dominoes
not fully test them, anyway I'm sure they can test some of the more important things before they release it to the public

that would take soooo much time and cost soooo much money, supply would be more constrained than it already is and the system itself would likely cost more money.
who cares if it has a <1% failure rate? that is absolutely nothing compared to most other consumer tech. |

"lol because the wii u totally didn't brick on launch"
Not to mention the huge WiiU update that over-wrote the OS thus bricking consoles if the system was turned off.
I heard some guy bricked two of his WiiUs because his power went out and another time because the update froze on him.
So yeah, I'd say Nintendo screwed up. |
