| I'm pretty sure PETA kills animals quite a bit. |

@PETA
plants feel pain
and if everyone agreed to your belief
the world would be overpopulated with animals

No. I'm really not like that.
I don't go crazy when someone eats meat.
I just quietly don't eat meat because:
Less demand for meat --> less animals being bred for slaughter
And I only really bring up my reasons when asked about it or attacked because of it. |

There will always be an extremely high demand for meat, though. |

I'm going to now contradict my previous line of "I only bring up my reasons".
ALL MEAT EATERS ARE-Jk, but in all seriousness I do find it annoying that people think that meat is the ONLY or the BEST way of protein without taking dietary supplements such as protein pills.
In terms of non-meat protein products, there are:
live yogurt (dead yogurt is useless in terms of protein, however)
nuts (granted, allergies are very common)
quorn (and other fungi-based meat substitutes)
cheese (stay away from the fatty kinds though)
beans (pretty much most kinds)
chick peas (mmm)
lentils (mmm [2])
mushrooms (ew)
etc etc.

Exactly. There's nothing anyone can really do to stop that. Part of the reason I don't bear grudges against meat eaters; they have their reasons, they don't attack me for mine (well some do but the point stands that most meat eaters are reasonable), why should I give a damn? |

No but it's one of the only ways to get natural saturated fatty acids, such as Omega-3, which are detrimental to human health.
Plus, the typical human gets massive efficiency of energy when digesting meat. |

Yes. I don't really care if you eat meat. What you say is absolutely correct.
I don't expect everyone to be vegan nor vegetarian.
What I would like, however, is less animals being bred for slaughter. Not all of them, but just some. |

True, true.
But in this day & age in a first world society, we don't really need previously described massive efficiency in digesting food to calories.
Partly one of the reasons I don't expect ANYONE from a third world nation to stop eating meat- as high-calorie foods are incredibly difficult to find and thus eating meat is perfectly reasonable in a third world country.

I don't think you really read my post in its entirity before replying.
I'm not stereotyping the whole world's population.
I said it only applied to first world nations.
And later on I said that I don't expect anyone in a third world nation to become vegetarian.
Granted, some people have countless medical reasons that mean they should or have to. |

Just wanted to say that whole "grrr meat is protein must eat meat" thing is true in the fact that meat is protein but there are plenty of fruits/veggies/etc that aren't meat and hold a lot of protein blah blah w/e
anyway no ive never met a vegetarian like that-well actually no i have but it was just this super snotty girl who everyone wanted to bury in a shallow grave
it was also the same girl that literally snarled at me when i said gesundheit instead of god bless you
But any sane not-totally-pandead vegetarian (that i know) has never said something so stupid
Wewease the kwaken |
