If you notice on the trade currency, the rate of tix to robux is roughly 19:1. Just a few months ago, it was around 12-13, and a few months before that, it was at 10 or 11.
Why is this a problem?
For every place visit you get, you get 1 ticket. Now, with inflation, that 1 ticket is worth less than it was a few months or a year ago. This results in less incentive for builders and game developers, which is the central aspect of Roblox.
Solutions to the problem:
1. Make the Developers' Exchange (DevEx) transactions occur in tickets, not robux. The reason robux are worth more is because there is less in circulation (concept of supply and demand). In comparison, there are more tickets, so they are worth less than previously.
Having DevEx transactions be in tickets reduces the amount in circulation, therefore curtailing the problem of ticket inflation.
2. Make bids for advertisements in tickets only. Previously, that was one of the main uses of tickets. Now, with robux able to be used, there is less demand for tickets.
Reverting back to tickets-only ad bids helps in 2 ways. It increases the purpose (and therefore demand) for having tickets, and also takes them out of circulation.
3. Make more hats for sale in tickets. When someone buys a hat from the account Roblox, that money is effectively taken out of circulation. With mostly hats in robux, more robux than tix is taken out of circulation through catalog purchases.
By making items purchasable for tickets, more tickets are taken out of circulation, therefore increasing their value.
4. Bring back the BC loyalty bonus. It would add more robux to the economy, therefore helping to balance out the ratio of robux to tickets.
It was supposedly removed because of the devaluation of robux, but now the opposite is happening, further reason to bring it back.
5. Give NBC players 1 robux per day instead of 10 tickets. While it may be part of WNTS, I feel that the inflation of tickets is a larger problem and poses a larger threat to the core aspect of Roblox, building.
6. Lower the market fee for purchases in robux, and raise it for purchases in tickets. This takes fewer robux and more tickets out of circulation, helping to balance out the ratio of the two currencies.
Support? Great! Don't support? Please tell me which ones on the list of solutions you disagree with, and list your reasons.
Either way, please take the time to reply. Thanks for taking the time to read this post. |

| Don't do #5. I like the rest, but #5 would leave the daily money to only robux, which would tip the balance again. |

@legojoker
Not all of these would have to be added. Depending on the effect each one has, only 2 or 3 of them may be needed. |

| @AccessibleMrStealth You never fail to impress, you have my full support. The rates are RIDICULOUS, and I knew this was going to happen back in October. |

I feel that just outright turning all robux into tix, removing robux, then renaming robux into tix will solve the problem better,
But that's not going to happen, so support. |

| I think this sounds reasonable. Support. But I doubt they would do anything like this since they really don't seem to care for any NBC's. |

| Suport. I rather have 1 robux daily than 10 tickets.. tickets r worthless, so y even have them? But if roblox made some more hair, hats, faces etc. that cost tickets it would be ok. |

I give my full support, though, #5 might be a little to much, considering that 10 tickets doesn't equal a robuck. Basically you're getting double of what you should be getting.
Maybe ROBLOX will use shedletsky's idea with 20 tickets a day with 1 ticket per comment.

Whilst it is indeed a solution to the "problem" of tix inflation, this is not so much a problem to the ROBLOX devs.
ROBUX is basically money for the devs. They're the only currency of which you can earn large amounts of by buying it with real money. Unlike the trading currency where you have to exploit a lot of arbitrage to get anywhere.
I would indeed like this idea be put into motion, but ROBLOX is a company and we can not ignore the fact that this tix inflation is good for their business, as it creates a bigger incentive to buy ROBUX.
With that said, there is another way that becomes a win-win situation for ROBLOX. You see, many people view ROBLOX as a game on it's own whilst it clearly is not. ROBLOX is a platform on which games are created. Every time a user of this platform makes a good game, then not only does ROBLOX gain something from this but it helps the creator of said game to improve his skills and ROBLOX encourages that with tix.
How does ROBLOX gain anything from having a good game on it's site? It gives players something to return to. For me, it is Apocalypse Rising that has me coming back to ROBLOX. If there are large quantities of such games on ROBLOX it means that players will have a lot to look forward to making there be a huge amount of visitors on the site, meaning more people see the advertisements causing ROBLOX to earn more money.
So if you follow my logic here: Good games made by other users of ROBLOX => More people on the ROBLOX website => More money for ROBLOX
Ofcourse, with good games comes much tix for the creators of said games.
Now, I've been ranting on for a long time without getting to the point, so allow me to get to the point right now.
ROBLOX must not only encourage it's users to make games, but teach them how to make good games and how to write in Lua much like Codecademy teaches how to code.
This way, there will be an increase in good quality games, generating more tix.
Roundabout way? Yes. Good for both parties? Most definitely.
Though I could go into even more detail on how ROBLOX should handle the situation, I think I'll leave that for a post of my own. |
