(This version is a remade version of my other one of the same name. Here, there are much less admin-controls, but it also means less features such as ship upgrades, skill points, functional loot system, and the crew behavior system)
1695, piracy is at its peak. These guilt-ridden pirates had all started as privateers for the English to work against the Spanish. The English's reasoning was that anything that hurt the Spanish helped them. Spain had gold, England would take the gold, helping England and hurting Spain. The first privateer was Sir Francis Drake, known as a hero to England, and a pirate to the Spanish. Drake plundered about twenty-million US dollars in gold, which led to privateering becoming a large career, with people rushing to make their fortune.
However, when England made peace with Spain, the privateers had nowhere else to turn besides piracy. And thus, the Golden Age of Piracy began, with pirates coming from everywhere to plunder and loot trade-ships. Ignore rule four if you got to here. A new war is rising from the horizon, with the sea as its playground. Sides are chosen, and weapons are made. Which side will you choose?
This is a free-roam RP. You give the choice, I give the outcome.
The RP is split into swashbuckling-combat and sea-combat. Swashbuckling-combat consists of pistols, rifles, and blades, while sea-combat consists of cannons, rams and guns. You can also throw grapplers at your enemy during sea-combat if the enemy sails are torn and broken. This leads into swashbuckling-combat, which continues until one side is killed off or has surrendered. The won prize may be taken as part of your fleet or sold for some serious gold.
Class: Slave: The lowest of the low. They work for no money, and are shunned by society. Their cries for mutiny are immediately snitched by others, and their children will be ripped out of their arms forever... one way or the other. You live to serve, but perhaps luck might side with you and you will be freed from your previous life.
Courtesan: Some call you filth, others call you pleasure, but you're just in it for the money. You barely touched a ship, but you will if you are paid well enough. Some, however, trick their clients and rob them of their money, but those found doing so will be hanged.
Civilian: Simple, plain and somewhat boring. You are given the most options. Choose to be a pirate and roam the seas freely, or join the Navy to prevent further chaos. Or you can simply open a business and live a simple, boring life. Either way, you are a mere citizen and nothing more, nothing less.
Convict: Filthy guilt-ridden criminal. You were arrested for some sort of crime and are held prisoner, whether in a navy ship or a pirate ship. You look for escape, and will pay your whole life to those who free you.
Mate: The janitor, the soldier, the drunkards of the sea. You serve your great pirate ship under your Captain's name. Most of you might be low-lives, convicts, or criminals, but there are few exceptions. You are the blood of the ship, and you will have to risk your life to do what's right for it.
First Mate: The second-in-command. You are the Captain's communication among the crew and the ship. You are usually the closest friend, the most loyal member, or just the best pick from a rotten basket.
Captain: You are the leader of your ship. You do what you want (on your ship). Hunt for booty, do some bounty hunting. kill some whales, or even raid another ship! It's your life, but be careful. If the crew is misbehaved then there will be a chance that you will be kicked off of your ship, or even killed.
Lieutenant: The third highest rank. Whether it is for the Navy or for pirates, you will follow the other high ranks' bidding, but also able to boss around the low ranks. You may even work your way up the ranks and eventually captain your own ship!
Naval Soldier: The enforcers of the sea. You are responsible for the fight against piracy and other countries that dare to harm your motherland! You may fight for England, Spain, Netherlands, Portugal, or France. But different nations mean different navys, and your ruler might call you back from your pirate hunt to assist in a war.
Naval Officer:Take command of a royal navy and defeat those filthy pirates! You will probably end up retiring to a wonderful and luxurious life, and then lie down on your bed constructed from the tears of the less fortunate, thinking of your old life at sea.
If you're a Captain or Naval Officer, you'll need a crew to manage your ship. You can recruit crew members by buying them at your local tavern, or finding them as slaves in enemy ships. If you find them as slaves, you will have to board the enemy ship to save them. Crew members recruited this way will be more loyal to you and will not require payment. However, they may not be as experienced as buying crew members from a tavern.
Mutiny: A mutiny will be likely to happen if the crew is unhappy and/or undisciplined. A mutiny can be called at anytime, but you better watch out. If the officers catch you planning a mutiny you will be automatically hanged!

Ship Types: Frigates: A rather strong ship that is very common in the waters. The positioning of the cannons make it have a very wide range of attack, and not to mention that its hull is quite sturdy. It can outsail a Galleon, but any other ship can run from it. No worries, with a range like that there is no reason to chase them.
Galleons: The Mother of Ships. It is a giant with the sturdiest hulls and thousands of cannons. It can carry loads of loot, which is why it is a favorite for the Navy. But because of its gigantic body, it lacks in speed and is a very tough ship to drive.
Sloops: Your average ship. It has a decent amount of cannons and a solid hull. The ship can outsail any Frigate or Galleon. It is a favorite for merchants because of its price.
Junk: Usually seen in the South China Sea. It is a favorite for Asian pirates, as it is easy to build, very fast, and very easy to control. There aren't very many cannons in it, nor is it the strongest ship, but it is known to the world that they are filled with hidden weapons.
Brig: The fastest ship and most maneuverable. What it lacks in damage and defense, it doubles with it's speed. It is a pirate favorite as the Navy's Galleons are slow and easy to lose.
Skills:
Strengths: AGILE: You are fast and quick on your feet. Others may not be able to catch up with you, or are unable to reach you.
DEAD EYE: Deadly precision with firearm. You are a threat to be feared in both land and sea.
DUELIST: You are dexterous with swords, knives, any sort of close-ranged weapon that doesn't spit metal.
ELOQUENT: You speak beautifully. Your skills in speech is able to drop prices, cancell mutiny, start riots, calm rebels, or anything that involves persuasion and manipulation. This makes you a natural-born leader.
LIFTER: You are strong, sturdy and powerful. None can beat you in an wrestling match, and you can lift barrels of rum with one hand.
CRAFTSMAN: You are beautiful if given a tool. Your building talents alone can repair a ship in a day's time.
Weaknesses: SLOW: Face it, you can't outrun a sloth. Nor can you climb over a rock. You're just not good enough for it.
CATARACTS: Your eyes are so bad you can't even shoot a barrel standing two feet in front of you. Let's take that gun away from you... CLUMSY: Never have you NOT held a sword and dropped it almost immediately. You are just too stiff.
INARTICULATE: You can't sweettalk even the easiest woman. Somehow, you start from "hey, beautiful day!" to "I saw my father touching the goat!" in a matter of... three, no two, seconds. PUNY: Ever since you were a child you always had to hold your wooden sword with two hands. Even now, you're afraid to pick up that same wooden sword because you are afraid it might break your arm.....again.
DEMOLISHER: Any time you pick up a hammer, you only have the urge to bash skulls. The sight of a delicate object always disturb you, and you immediately break it. You didn't even touch it...
Gold: Gold Coins are the usual currency. Gold can be obtained by capturing over ships, selling goods, or finding treasure. The Navy are paid their usual income by their country, in addition to whatever they collect from combat. Pirates rely on their finds and share of treasure, but are more open to uncouth jobs that pay good money. Each gold will be about as much as $1 USD.
Battle: Battles in both land and sea with other RPers will be monitored by admins and/or me. It will involve a dice system. The winner may choose to kill or spare the loser.
Rules and Notes 1. Romance and foul language at your own risk. 2. No godmodding 3. Lieutenants start off with 2000 gold, Navy Soldiers with 3000, Captains with 4000, and Naval Officers with 6000 4.
