| I keep having problems with people making alternate accounts and joining the game. Can I use an IP/similar ban protocol script to stop them? I see no reason why not, but I want to confirm. |

| I'm pretty sure you can't get the player's IP with a script. |

| Roblox privacy policy doesn't allow them to give out user's IPs, though with the new HttpService I've heard it's still possible.. |

@Chris
Although roblox has done some things that we consider dumb, they are actually pretty smart. I'm sure they found a way to prevent player's from getting IP addresses. |

| I don't think it's against the rules, but I don't think it'll be very easy to do it. |

Straight from the privacy policy:
We also use cookies and “clear gifs” (on-page tracking code) to track user entry onto and movement within the ROBLOX website. This helps us credit advertisers appropriately, and measure the health and effectiveness of our website. For example, we use tracking to determine if new page designs are user friendly or too complicated. Our tracking approach is industry standard, and includes non-personally identifiable information such as IP address, browser type, and date/time.
Additionally, when visitors come to our site, we automatically collect some non-personally identifiable “computer” information, such as the type of computer operating system (e.g., Windows 95 or Mac OS), the web browser (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer) being used, IP address, and information regarding the Internet service provider. This information is used to provide technical and community support. |

| Though you can't reach a Player's IP though Roblox, you may still be able to reach it through other sites such as simply doing a Google search for "What Is My IP" or something like that. |

@Haxo, Unlikely. It's the ROBLOX server that sends the request, not the client (if I'm not mistaken), so all they'd get is the IP of the server they're on. |

| Players joining through the network service have their IP displayed publicly to anybody who happens to be able to use the explorer. There are some workarounds to find which player has which IP, but it's generally unreliable technology. If you wan't to IP ban somebody, it's pretty redundant as it will take you more effort to IP ban someone manually than to simply keep banning them from your game. |

| You used to be able to obtain a player's IP address in-game, but it has been changed and is no longer available. I'm unsure if you can get IP address from the new HTTPService. |

The new HTTP service seems to proxy through Roblox as said before. I don't think it will be possible with this new HTTP service. |

| Hmm. Thanks anyways guys. I really only need this to make it so alternate accounts can not join the game. However, since it is proxied, I am not sure I can obtain an IP (without using some kind of hacks). However, there might be a way to "tag" the client (some kind of cookie)? I'll look into it, and if you have any ideas, please let me know! |

People can get peoples IP with HttpService if they load whatismyipadress, and get the IP in the box, checks if its a banned ip then if it is remove the player. Just gotta know how to get the text in that little box |

Sorry, I don't think he was clear:
When you use the HTTPService, it uses Roblox's IP (since it's server-side) |

| If you use it in a local script (if it's possible) then it would probably use your IP |
