Do you think nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki, civilian centers, was justified? I think it saved about a million lives because Japan was not going to surrender before the war and our second plan was a land invasion which would have cost both Japan and America millions of lives. Also, in a total war, where everyone is prepared and contributing to war, the line between civilian and soldier kinda blurs.
What do you think? |

I'd like to remind you that Japan did have a strong military force. And unless USA marched into Japanese lands and murdered civilians, it didn't save any undisposable lives. |

I originate from Japan and agree . You had right to bomb us as we were not doing good.

Nihon joined yesterday, he has one post, and he probably used a translator for his siggy. The chances of him actually being Japanese is very small. And, again, it wasn't justified unless USA was already murdering undisposable lives. And incase you didn't know; Disposable = soldiers. Undisposable = civilians. |

| I don't know if you know this but those japs had horrible things going on. They used slave labor to build roads through the jungles of Indochina, and captured civilians and subjected them to torture and medical experiments. I say we oughtta be thanked for nuking them. Maybe not for the method itself, sure, but for ending the war rather. |

| I'm going to say no. Nothing deserves to be nuked. (Except Syria for gassing their own people) |

Except, correct me if I'm wrong, they didn't bomb a military compound, they bombed a place full of civilians, and ending their lives and having that moment forever praised by USA is a terrible thing. And intimidating them into surrendering isn't a good thing at all either. |

actually you're wrong. A lot of Japanese people merely suffered from cancer and burns after the bombing, not all died :) Wrong again! |

@Mid I wasn't wrong the first time, because lives lost because of a cruel and terrible action of another country can't be justified. @Berserk Not really, I doubt they would murder civilians, and Japan had a strong military. Don't rely on Call of Duty for history, kids! |

especially if the civilans are extremely loyal to their emperor and attack you |

Soldiers literally sign up for the possibility to die. And like I said, Japan isn't like you see in your little propaganda-fuelled games. |

It's a miracle that USA got to Japan in the first place, millions of deaths wouldn't occur. And how do you know it was 1/4? If I died in a nuclear bomb, I'd probably remain anonymous... |

not everyone who dies in a nuclear blast is automatically incinerated to absolutely nothing
and you can estimate the death tolls by counting the approximate number of people outside the city in refugee camps after the blast
and if the bomb killed everyone in both cities it would be 1/2 million dead |
