Hi guys.
I got in to ReS1 by doing a 1v1 against a ReS1 person. I'm not gonna say who because I don't feel like it. It's not important anyways.
This was a sort of tricky topic to throw out, I wasn't sure where it would go. But here I am, and I'll explain my thoughts on quickscoping.
I'm going to strafe away from the CoR5 quickscoping killfeed. Sometimes, I do actually quickscope and the killfeed doesn't give my kill a "+5 Quickscope!" thing. Instead, I'll talk of a different game such as Authority, where quickscoping isn't as easy.
I personally think quickscoping requires some small touch of dragscoping. I don't mean dragging a 90 degree angle to get a shot, I mean a dragscope so small and quick that it wouldn't be noticed as a dragscope. Most other people would probably say that quickscoping is just aiming at the person and HERE WE GO, scope, shoot, unscope. Sounds simple, isn't so.
Here's an example: What if you want to catch a person landing? For say, quickscope their land? My initial scope-in would appear at the person mid-air, so when they start falling, my scope would be locked but not my shot. Therefore, I dragscope downwards quickly to catch their fall. This is a situation that probably takes a quarter of a second of scoping-in, in which most would not recognize this shot as a quickscope, but then what would it be? It's still a very fast shot, but if you take this to CoR5 it won't be logged as a quickscope.
So here's a quick review for people who don't like to read :P Other People: Quickscoping is scope, shoot, unscope, all while aiming at one point and usually not moving the mouse to adjust. My thoughts: Quickscoping relies on slight dragscoping to adjust the shot to make it better.
What do you think? Reply please.
Thanks! ReS1 Criyy
