It all started as a game. You wanted a more advanced Spores, but your world grew into another dimension, where you are God.
Let's start in the beginning shall we? You are a mere game designer, and you are assigned to make an advanced evolution simulator. With your genius-level intelligence you were able to create your base plate: a world.
With your designer tools ready in your desktop, you can create anything you want. ANYTHING!
What do you choose to create? |

To start off with, I want to create a flat (I mean euclidean flat, not round-earth flat) world that is infinite, or large enough that nobody canever reach the edge of the world.

The world expands in a giant, flat ground, terra-forming along the way. Vast mountains ripped through the earth, and caves create dark wholes along the way. Your imagination is without limits!
Now you have a giant hunk of rock, what else do you want? |

The earth; from the soil to sand, from rocks walls, turn a magnificent color of blue! Everything is blue
Insert: "I'm Blue" by Eiffel 65.
Ehm... sorry about that. Let's move on! Now the world is blue. What do you choose to create next? |

| Let us give it a different color, create water, leave that blue, and then create an arid dusty landscape, give it minimal plant life. |

It took time to get the texture, color and physics right, but you were able to do so and create a green, dense, smooth liquid.
Do you choose to pour it around your world? |

Good. I make it fill all the world below a certain height.

Below a certain height huh?
Your world begins to fill, and like a chemist pouring chemicals, you have a high concentration.
Finally you stop. The liquid seems to be in the right height.
What do you do now to your barren land? |

Make plants of the color that the land is right now, and revert the soil back to it's original color. I also make most of the forest animals that are on earth, and place them in the simulation. And I might as well program a "Freeze Time" and a "Fast Forward" button, as well.

After some heavy scripting you were able to add in a "time bender" GUI on the top of your screen.
After that you plant your earth with seeds and watch as blue plants and trees sprout magically through the ground. Then you add a dust of life, and out comes deer, boars, birds and animals from our usual forest.
The world is fresh and alive!
What do you do now? |

Well, I suppose that I should hide some minerals underground, right? I hide all the basic ores that were used from the dawn of man up until the early renaissance, excluding anything that in any way resembles gunpowder. I then add in humans, the first race. I also make the seasons, and fastforward time until there is a population of about two thousand humans in my world.

Minerals sprouted inside the world, sprouting like colorful seeds that never met the light.
You also begin making seasons, though a creative idea comes to mind, that you should make a fifth season. Do you choose to do so?
Meanwhile the humans remain as hunters-gatherers. They begin to question, with their great knowledge, who is out there. They ask for answers, but aren't sure how to ask them. |

Yes, yes I do. I create the four normal seasons, but between Summer and Autumn I add a rainy season.
Once there are the two thousand humans, I gather the twenty of their strongest members to... I pause time, make a large underground cavern and resume time... The large underground cavern.

The humans bear witness to the incredible creation of the cave and kneel down. They sense your presence among them, Tim. The strongest members, claim to have seen a vision that gathered them together. They begin telling the stories of what you have shown them.
What DID you show them? |

I showed them information on a quest. I hid ten gemstones throughout the world (Add to my to-do list: Hide ten gemstones throughout the world) and those that find them will become gods, as in they live forever, can't die and transcend their mortal forms, and have a limited amount of creation abilities. Each gemstone will be guarded by a Great Beast (Add to my to-do list: Create the ten Great Beasts) that can not be killed. Each one of them can only claim one gemstone. Once they take the gemstone, they also have command over the great beast. Oh, and once all ten gemstones are found if there are survivors among them that did not get the gems, the survivors will be killed.
Also, I suppose that I might as well just make the gems right now, right? I make gems of ten colors (Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Red, Orange, White, Black, Grey and Brown) and scatter them throughout a, say, two-hundred mile radius of the cavern? I then create the beasts, which are the same color as the gemstones that they guard.
Yellow: A giant, two headed snake. Green: A creature that appears to be a humanoid wearing some basic armor, the creature is made out of water. (Remember, the water in this world is green) Blue: A giant tree-like creature. Purple: A dragon Red: A humanoid avian that is at least twice as tall as a normal human. Orange: A giant human with orange eyes. White: A giant creature made out of strange, white crystals. Black: A creature with thousands of claws that strakes from the darkness. Grey: A mostly-transparent ghost. Brown: A giant, disembodied eye.
I then watch intently to see if they manage to find the gems.
