| Yep. No disrespect, but isn't it ironic how Paul Walker died in a car and he's in Fast and Furious? |

Irony is when the opposite of what you expect happens. For someone that works around cars so much, he had a higher chance of being in a car-related accident, simply due to the amount of time he spent in them/around them, and compounded by the dangerous stunts that took place on those sets.
In other words; that's not irony. That's coincidental.
Irony would be like this; Mary is someone that is an expert on traffic. She has plans to change the roads slightly in one area of the city, which will severely decrease congestion and make for better traffic flow. Basically; it's an excellent plan. But she never makes it to the meeting with the city council, to discuss this plan. She was late because of traffic.
This is ironic, because you expect a traffic expert to know how to avoid it. Another example of irony; a dentist getting a cavity. You expect him to know how to take care of his teeth. Paul Walker's death is not ironic, because he wasn't driving. He was a passenger. And just being in a movie with cars doesn't suddenly mean you're an expert on them, and driving them. |
