(Yes I am late, but since there were prom scenes of all the Carrie movies on YouTube, I decided to review all the prom scenes so I can get it off my back.)
Since that's the ONLY scene people came to the movies for, I guess that I should go ahead and say which one was better.
1970s: While I get that movies in the 70s didn't have an advantage for the effects, the prom scene in there might be scary, but somewhat goofy. I was seeing people being attacked by a water hose as if it was acid being sprayed out of it. It barely made sense on that only part. The score would had been 6.75/10
2002: It's made for TV, and that lead it to a BIG disadvantage. The only thing in there bloody was the bloody falling into Carrie. If it was TV-MA, it could had been better, but nope, they chose to keep it in TV-14. 4/10
2013: This movie might had got some arguments between this and the 70s version, but this was the only one I think is more close to the book, only for the prom part that is. One thing that the others didn't had was Rita Desjardin, the gym teacher, being pushed telekinetically. I have the book, and read that part. Of course Carrie didn't pushed everyone down telekinetically in the book. But after that part, I can actually see her rage. I could almost feel it. ALMOST 7.1/10
These are just opinions, I'm not saying it's true. If you disagree, I don't have a problem with it. This is just what I think. |

I'm pretty sure that hose was a fire hose or something like that. Or the people were freaking out because of the fact there's a floating hose. I'd also say that prom scene was scarier because of Sissy's portrayal and the fact there was suspense.
The new one was dumb because it was too fast and too short. Then they just went crazy and lazy with the effects. One big Yoda force push of everything in the room and it was pretty much done. And Chloe wasn't scary at all. She just floated around with a really cheesy frown. And the replay of the blood falling on her was crap. Absolute crap. It completely killed any sense of immersion and was just cheesy. And the blood itself was dumb looking too. Too brown.
I'm not mentioning the TV remake or Carrie 2 for obvious reasons. |

| I could had been that only critic on Rotten Tomatoes liking a horror movie making the movie 1% fresh. Good thing I want to be a show/movie maker. XD |
