'O Morgania, another land of misery and conflict--a place where prosperity never lasts, and where peace is non-existent. A realm where armies clash, nobles quarrel, and folk die from the plague. The cities bustle, and the hinterland starves. The rivers and battlefields run crimson with the blood of slain soldiers and horses. Burned-out homes, rotting corpses and blood-spattered war banners are all indications of the realm's everlasting war.

You live in this Morgania, which is located in the Eastern Archipelago. You were born here, and grew up here. Even midst the despair and hardship, a man or woman can possibly make something of themself, or at least get by. Doing so requires the right amount of skills, determination and luck.

You remember back when you were a child of only 13 years, and an adolescent of 17. Those were notable periods of your past. Things were somewhat different in those times, yet mostly in the affairs of petty politics. A few influential people had come and gone, but the general state of the realm and the sentiment of its inhabitants has remained unchanged--the world remains bitter.

What you decided to accomplish in those early years will determine who and what you are today. If you weren't killed off back when you were young, of course...

RULES AND NOTES

-My word is law. I am omnipotent. You may ask questions freely, though!

-You make decisions for your character, and I decide the outcomes using logic and dice. I control the environment, NPCs, and fate. You don't.

-Magic does not exist. People kill each other with more worldly means.

-If you want to learn more about lore and game concepts, your character must read books, listen to stories, etc.

-This thread is for child-phase characters. New ones will be made. They will be teenage and adult-phase threads.

-Please be somewhat detailed when you attack something. Include power and direction, and whether you are stabbing, slashing, smashing, etc

-Your character must eat, remain hydrated and rest. You can also get nasty diseases. Your character will begin to smell bad if they don't bathe themselves, too.

-Swear and indulge in romance at your own risk.

-This is based off traditional medieval society. Religion dominates most countries, and women are discriminated against. But don't let that hold you back--you can still accomplish your goals.

-Your character's social status is rolled. You could be born a slave. Don't whine, adapt. You can still rise up.

RACES

Domini Humans: Domini humans are mainly from the old Balbic Empire. They are quite similar to Rove humans, but with differing culture and stereotypes. Their men are known for shorter and "pointy" facial hair. They are common in Imperatora, Balba and Melcritch. Height: 5'8-5'9

Isle Humans: Isle Humans are known for paler skin, and often blond hair. Standing taller than most other human species on average, they're the biggest race of humans. They commonly have blue eyes. They are found in Scelland, Northerlin and the surrounding islands of those areas, including the Island Independecnies Federation. Height: 5'10-5'11

Rove Humans: Rove humans are shorter than Isle Humans but taller than Lowe Humans, similar to Domini folk. They often have green eyes, and have varying builds. They mostly inhabit Valcay, Calawalse, Melcritch and Loveoc. They are one of the most common humans. Height: 5'7-5'9

Lowe Humans: Lowe Humans are known for their status as the shortest humans. They commonly have curly hair. A typical adult stands shorter than most Roves and Domini. They are found in the kingdoms of Yattin and Calawalse, most often. Height: 5'4-5'6

Civil Elves: Civil or "Feldatan" elves inhabit the Feldatan Empire, although they are not uncommonly found in human nations. They are about as tall as a Rove or Domini human. They have human skin tones and can grow facial hair more easily than forest elves. Height: 5'8-5'9

Forest Elves: Forest or "Concordian" elves inhabit the Concord, and rarely travel very far from it. Forest elf height varies; southern Concord natives are similar to Lowe humans, while the more northern ones are of typical human height. They also often have paler skin, light hair and longer legs than civil elves. Height: 5'5-5'8

Hegemon Orcs: Hegemon orcs are the smaller, yet smarter cousins to the brutish Fen orcs. Their strength and height usually surpasses a normal human male anyway. They are known to have lighter green skintones than Fen orcs. They have large teeth, which can, and will, grow into tusks with time. This is true for both true orc races. Hegemon orcs are the primray denizens of the Hegemony in the Orclands. Height: 5'11-6'1

Fen Orcs: Fen orcs are the bigger and more intimidating cousins to the Hegemon orcs, the average one being taller and having darker, generally more muddy green skin tones. Fen orcs are big, and muscled, moreso then their evolved cousin race. Fen orcs have dark red and amber eyes and normally larger and sharper teeth, which give them their big lips. They often inhabit marshes, always in the Orclands. They live in uncivilized clans. Height: 6'3-6'4

NATIONS



The Kingdom of Valcay

The Valcayan Kingdom is a vast, yet quite corrupt nation boasting a powerful army and several large cities. However, life in the hinterland is hard, like in many other kingdoms, and plague causes the death of many farmers and rural citizens. Bandits often prowl the forests and valley roads. King Ney sometimes has good intentions, but many lords and court ministers in the realm are concerned with their own interests only. Valcay is influenced heavily by the Church of the Sacred Keeper. Valcay's soldiers may vary in experience and gear depending on what lord's region they are in. Valcay's army swells in size from conscripted forces, and they make use of the longbow. Red and white are the faction's main colours.


The Imperatoran Theocracy

Imperatora is a unitary theocratic empire governed by religious officials who follow the religion of "The Truth". The land is ruled over by Chalemec V, the Ascendant Pontifex of Imperatora. Formed from former Balban territories, Imperatora has a large amount of land, which it rules over with an iron fist. Abiding by the doctrine of the state religion is mandatory among all citizens, with heretics being impaled. Imperatora does not tolerate non-Truthists, and is also racist against non-humans, although it accepts elves willing to mutilate their ears in order to "become human". Imperatora's citizens are often called "Theons" instead of Imperatorans. Gold, white and blue are this faction's main colours. Gold is a symbol of purity, and thus is the primary colour on the Imperatoran flag.


The Kingdom of Scelland

The Kingdom of Scelland is a kingdom located in the northeast, on several islands of varying sizes close to the mainland. It maintains trade relations with other island nations, like the tiny Federation and faraway Gartoss, but they tend to fight with the Valcayans and Hege-orcs. Scells are good with the crossbow and sword, and are a largely seafaring country. Their soldiers often wear spiked helmets. Scelland is a feudal nation, and King Malmourn's lords rule over their own regions and tend to manage their own affairs and personal armies and navies. The land is vast and many areas are uninhabited. Gray and green are the faction's main colours.


The Kingdom of Loveoc

Loveoc, in the past, enjoyed picking fights. However, after several long, bloody wars, the country became worn out and withdrew, and signed several treaties. They now mostly act as a trading nation, selling grain and fruit to Valcay and minerals to the Orclands. Their army isn't impressive, however. It is smaller than most, but that is understandable due to their diplomacy. Many Loveocs are excellent businessmen and merchants. Loveoc is united under one king, and has no landlords, using Governors instead. Like Valcay, they are influenced by the Church of the Sacred Keeper. The faction's main colours are orange and brown.


The Kingdom of Balba

The Balban Kingdom was once fat with territory, owning all that once was Imperatora after it invaded its former kingdoms. However, a rebellion lead by Chalmec I caused them to lose almost all of their former territory. Chalmec I then formed mighty Imperatora from Balba's old territory. Time has now passed, and Balba has become a wretched place fraught with crime, brigandage, corruption and poverty, despite being considered nigh invincible years ago. Still, it retains a standing military force with many men, despite it being mostly made up of pathetic rabble. Its lords are corrupt and cruel, with only a few odd figures still trying to hold the country together. Rebels, brigands and other backstabbing folk roam the land. Yellow and gray are the faction's main colours. Balba is ruled by King Ginchev IV.


The Kingdom of Melcritch

Melcritch is a splintered north-western Morganian kingdom, who sometimes fights with the Kingdom of Balba and the orcs. It is a divided nation among quarrelling lordlings who battle one another for their territory. Their king and his council are long dead, so the vassals of the realm have basically gone independent. Crime, poverty and conflict is ripe in this realm. Melcritchic soldiers tend to wear black, but their coat-of-arms always differ depending on the lord they belong to. Melcritch is a mixed basket of races. Domini, Rove and Lowe humans exist here as well as some civil elves. Melcritch is despised by the other nations, since it lacks order and its people often go against the latter's religious superstitions. However, some people call it a land of freedom.


The Feldatan Empire

The Feldatan Empire is a feudal civil elven nation, and has been fighting for years against the Forest Elven Concord in order to obtain land that they claimed was rightfully theirs. A bitter sentiment has built up between the two nations and races. The Feldatan Empire is a little less crime-ridden than human nations due to their people being more united, but it is still highly dangerous due to constant assaults and raids from Concordian soldiers. The Feldatan Empire's lords have generally plentiful forces of soldiers, and they put the longbow to good use. The Feldatan Empire uses purple and gray in its flags.


Forest Elven Concord

The Forest Elven Concord territory is to the east of the civil elven Feldatan Empire. It is home to multiple massive forests and many woodland communities. The territories are ruled over by warlords and intendents who answer to the queen of the realm. Crime is typically only done by human immigrants, and harvests are good--if the land is not razed by Feldatan soldiers first, who often cross through the land bridge or trespass into the country by boat. The forest elves work with with glaives and bows, and make excellent archers and light infantry. The forest elves are fond of brown and green.


The Hegemony [The Orclands]

The Hegemony rules over their large fracturing empire in the north, where many villages and small towns must fight off raids from the fen orcs and half-orcs that are in their territory. Hegemon orcs often assault human lands, except Loveoc, whom they trade with. In fact, many Loveoc humans live in the Hegemony. Many citizens have high loyalty to their Emperor, Fognal XIV. Orcish regions are ruled over by imperial officials. Warlords from each region contribute to the main army by training troops for the capital, and also act as commanders in battle. Crime is high in the south, where trespassing human bandits and army deserters prey on folk. This orcish faction's colours are dark red, orange and black.. The Hegemony is very militarized and its laws are based on a strange honour system.


The Half-Orcish Kingdoms [The Orclands]

Within the Orclands, small Half-orc factions exist. Half-orcs often raid Hege-orcs in the same manner Fen orcs do, but they are not allies with the Fens, and battle them as well. Half-Orcish kingdoms are often eventually destroyed by the Hegemony, but quickly reform. The faction colours vary depending on the kingdom.


The Fen-Orcish Clans [The Orclands]

The Fen orcs settle in Hegemon lands, and constantly fight with their cousins. They are a little taller and a little stronger than the Hegemon orcs, but they lack "civilized" assets. They live in scattered raider tribes throughout the realm and launch attacks on settlements and farms, like bandits. But the Fen orcs have a code of honour, and a somewhat organized way of order. The faction colours vary depending on the clan.

CHARACTER SHEET

-It is recommended that you consider asking for your character's social status to be rolled first so that you have something to work off of, before posting your CS.

-By choosing to be a certain race in some countries, you cannot achieve high social status. [ex: non-humans in Imperatora.]

-Do not put a specific height. [ex: 6'5] Just say that your character is "tall", "short", "average", etc. Idiots will always compete to get the tallest character for no reason.

-When making your appearance, be detailed. Don't say "Tall with green eyes and brown hair." Be more descriptive than this, please. Include other details too, and have good word choice.

-This is your 13-year-old character appearance. Next phase, you will be able to make edits. Your weight and strength will change over the course of events.

-Do not use lame, real-world, common names. You may ask about the names of different in-game nations, if you want.

PERSONALITY: Faeran is a somewhat moody person, but can easily be turned on. He lives his life in a series of ups and downs, and is normally quite down when he isn't doing something that actively captures his mind. He has a very large lust for adventure, and women.

Melcritch, where his species is most common.

APPEARANCE:
He has a rather average height, right in the middle of it all. Dssaga's hair colour could be described as a light creamy brown, streaked with blond strips, and even some auburn, which is cut just above his ears. Born with the genetic mutation known as hectrocromia, Dsaaga's right eye is a faint, pastel green, ringed with a darker green, whilst his other eye is a light gray, flecked with hazel. The shape could be described as a wide almond, and his eyes are framed by his impossibly long, dark lashes. He has a fairly thin build.

PERSONALITY:
A tricky person to describe, here's the basics;
[Irritable] Though it may not seem like it, Dssaga has a short fuse, when something is directly involved in him. He'll explode over the simplest of comments, and will begin screaming in other people's faces.
[Stubborn] Undyingly stubborn, he refuses to give up, and to try his best when he can, even if he doesn't like what it is. He refuses to back down, always standing his ground when he believes in it. This, on occasion, has led to some minor authority problems.
[Loyal] Loyal to the end, he refuses to give up on a friend, even if they gave up on him longer before. He'll strand by them, for better or for worse, and will help put when he can. This however, can cause him to be blind to that friend's not-so-good traits.
[Nomadic;quiet and reserved] His trait above is countered by this one, as the boy struggles in making, and painting strong friendships due to his dislike of crowds, and his craving for silence.
[Spitfire] Unpredictable at times, you never know what Dssaga's next move is in life, whether it's to yell at a teacher, or doing something random.
[Intelligence; cunning] An intelligent child, he often channels that energy into petty tricks.
[Bravery] Not afraid to stand up to authority, or too try something completely new if he puts his mind to it.
