To start this off, I may have posted this in the wrong forum, but I'm not looking for a certain script or needing help to script. I'm actually looking for a place that can teach me how to script (for free, of course, I can't afford anything at the moment).
To explain, I've been looking at posts on the ROBLOX blog that show small scenes of remarkable gameplay, such as animation, dialouge, physics, you name it. I've always been very interested in this kind of work, but I've never had the mindset or motivation to learn; well I'm giving it another go. I'm aware I won't suddenly gain the ability to create scripts and games such as those I've stated, but I know with practice, hard work, and dedication I will, but first I must find a place to begin with this effort.
In short, is anyone willing to help me find a place with more in-depth tutorials on scripting than what is provided in the ROBLOX wiki? That will be my starting point, but I would like to know if I should continue scripting from there, because they don't teach about what I've seen on the wiki. So, anyone willing to help? It would be greatly appreciated.

| Trioxide, read either the first or last paragraph, it's not much of a read at all. |

| Quick update: I found out of a place called LuaLearners, they have their own website and it's been running over the past two years with a lot of members, they also have a group that I am now part of. So along with my first question, is this a good resource for learning to script Lua? |

FIRST :: Look at LuaLearners If you can't find what are you looking for, try the wiki.roblox.com |

| Thanks uyjulian, I'll check it out. But about looking at the wiki, they only provide tutorials for simpler Lua scripts, not the advanced type of material. I know I'm a long walk ahead of advanced, but I'd like to know if there is anything that could teach me from beginner to advanced; looking at LuaLearners, it seems like I found it. If you have anything else, I'd appreciate it if you let me know! |

Oh! I have exactly the thing for you. Look in my favorites, you will find Beginning, Moderate, and Advanced Lua tutorial places. They can be accessed in Edit mode. |

| @Soy, I learned most of my Lua knowledge with the wiki. You just need to be able to know what to try to make next, and how to find what is required to make that. |

Thanks, Soybeen, I'll be sure to check it out.
I see what you mean, MettaurSp. So if I'm not mistaken you're saying that if I go to the wiki and learn all that they have there, I'll be able to make different types of scripts with the knowledge I've gained. Other than that, thanks for the help.
Also, apologies for kinda bashing the wiki saying it has nothing good. That's not what I meant to say, I was saying that it may not have advanced tutorials, but according to what some of you guys have said, I may be able to teach myself advanced scripting with the wiki alone. Anyways, thanks for the help! |

| Yeah, I meant to type your name instead lol. Anyways, just think of some seemingly basic scripts to make and try to figure out what features of Rbx.Lua you will need, and look em up. And remember to take help requests for scripts to Scripting Helpers cause of the tendency for users on this section to flame requesting people off. |

The wiki has a pretty good cookbook. I'd recommend that for starters. |
