It's simple physics while I myself haven't looked into the energetic particles that make magnets attract iron. But magnets also attract less dense material like wood, you can test this by hanging a toothpick by a string and putting a magnet next to it, this will make the toothpick tilt. My guess is electrons I wouldn't say photons(Electromagnetic Spectrum) because photons usually radiate.

Electrons in static(I think) tend to pull negatively charged matter towards the positive, so in magnets this might be constant but not in static. Then again, electrons in electricity running in an electromagnet means that magnets might behave like they do because of electrons. My hypothesis. Imma look that up later. |
