I really want to do a science fiction type of novel. But I need ideas.
If you can help me with some ideas, that'd be very helpful. Try to avoid really dumb ideas too. You don't help at all, and you just waste your time. |

Robots are way too mainstream.
I hate to sound like a hippie, but that idea is so overused. |

Not steampunk. I don't really like the idea of this being in the past.
What I was hoping for is that this book would take place in the future, but not as anyone else really seems it to be like. There's no more technology, and the world is nearly in ruins. |

| A civilization on another planet who know Earth and the people exist, but are wondering how they should approach us as they want to explore our land and our culture. |

Make a fiction book way in the future and have Arsenal win a cup
AND JON, SEEING THAT ALL HIS CRYING AND HORRIBLE PLAYING HAD WON HIM OFF OF VANCOUVER, BURST INTO TEARS OF JOY. "I HAVE DONE IT!" HE SHOUTED. "ALL MY WORK HAS PAID OFF!" |

| Good idea tiny, but I was hoping that this story would also still take place on Earth. I also kinda wished that this would be a story with a lot of action in it, as well as a little bit of romance. |

ok well i wrote an expository piece that never turned into anything a few years ago so you can have the whole text of that if you want
it is very childish writing imo, i hate it all now, but it might spark an idea.
keep in mind that it is VERY hard to just sit down and write a book. you might have whole characters that you end up ditching later on because you found some other way to develop them or you just start hating your entire work and scrap the whole thing. it happens a lot. |

Make a story of someone passing out on a boat on the water alone.
Then he wakes up and is in 20(whatever) and is told he is a robot and looks like one. But whenever he looks into the mirror he is himself.

@fire
Thanks for the help. You helped made me realize that I really don't have to think of everything really quickly. I know I'll probably have a lot of struggles writing this book, as well as the novel not getting as popular as some books, but I still want to be able to express my writing ability and see if anyone else enjoys it.
@drbat
Good?
Name one piece of writing out there that includes such immature things like that. |

iss let me give you some more advice
if you have an idea for a scene, an action scene, a romance scene, write that.
don't worry about starting your book.
don't worry about ending your book.
just write what you are thinking right now and worry about what you don't know later. |
