1- Creativity They help children learn to make decisions, use strategies, anticipate consequences and express their personalities. 2- Inspire history and culture for them The content of certain video games can encourage kids to read and to research. Video games such as Age of Mythology, Civilization, and Age of Empires may spark a child's interest in world history, geography, ancient cultures and international relations. 3- Help make friends Most young kids see video games as a social activity, not an isolating one. Video games create a common ground for young kids to make friends; allow kids to hang out; and provide structured time with friends. 4- A chance to be a leader When children play video games in groups, they often take turns leading and following, depending on who has specific skills needed in that game. 5- They teach Some children gain status as the "go-to" kid who knows how to beat the toughest parts of a game. Teaching others builds social and communication skills, as well as patience. |

Call of duty and halo are dumb
However, arma 2/dayz and Battlefield can improve the ability to work as a team and communicate
Assuming you're not a lone wolf shoot everyone bandit |

@Aikai
Those effects are common in kids with no perceptions of reality, but anybody who is mature enough and civil enough to distinguish right from wrong, good and evil, and who does not let the media be their primary source of information has little to nothing to worry about in most circumstances. |

Anyone who would want to play call of duty is already broken
Call of Duty would neither worsen nor improve their condition |

i saw about 13 5 year olds dropping the f bomb on call of duty, and about 2 10 year olds on halo modding
and alot of kids dont know what is right or wrong

Same applies to Wise's latest post.
While I do agree that parents should watch what younger, less developed kids are doing and taking part in, I think games and movies are starting to become a scapegoat for the world's problems.
Hip-hop and stars back in the 80's were accused of doing those same things.
Every single generation HAS to have a scapegoat to make themselves feel superior to more recent generations. |

@Aikai
You keep mentioning violence
that's irrelavent, whats relavent is why there's violence.
There's violence because you have a goal, and so does the other team, you want to keep them from their goal. In battlefield if played properly there are no such thing as trickshots.
In arma 2 there is no anger if you play it the right way, arma 2 players are some of the most patient people ever.
Dayz, well, that just models the real world.
Clearly you know nothing about video games. |

| Yes, I know it's possible to receive such benefits on non-violent games, but your argument is that games are more detrimental and beneficial, which I respectfully disagree to. |
