Just kidding....sorta
My grandparents who we go to for thanksgiving are very religious (catholic), and being an atheist this annoys me since they wait until everyone is ready for food and all the food is ready even though I'm god damn hungry.
Also my family knows how my grandma makes crappy mashed potatoes. The turkey is very dry and unappetizing. The stuffing is ok. The corn has no butter or salt on it.
I'm on my phone under 2 hours after dinner (we ate dinner at 4:30 PM, waaaaay too early for dinner imo) and I'm waiting and waiting
How are you doing, OT? |

This has nothing to do with religion you buffoon. It's rude to eat when no one else is ready. |

Why does it bother you that much, if they want to say grace let them say grace. The world doesn't revolve around you. |

'It's rude to eat when no one else is ready.'
I usually eat when I am hungry, regardless whether someone else is ready or not. That's just how I eat, though. My family doesn't eat together around a table or anything.
I suppose it might be a little annoying to wait for others, but I think in OP's case it would be better to wait because respect. |

you complain about food that is not to your standards ? that's seriously down right rude since it's from your grandma who most likely cares about you |

But they take forever
I'm waiting at the table for 10-15 minutes waiting for them to be ready, then I wait a few more minutes for everyone to be seated, then we wait another minute as they say their prayers and whatnot. THEN we eat, and we can't have a bite of food or drop of drink beforehand. |

You could respect their beliefs and be thankful for the food and the fact that you can live a safe, happy life in America, and for loving, caring grandparents who have cooked up a nice meal that nourishes you and pray with them.
Or, go clog your arteries by driving through a fast-food restaurant and spend the day as you would any other, not even thinking twice about being thankful in the least or spending time with your family.
Because the latter is just SO much more appealing. |

Surely she put effort into it
and I act like I care
but deep down inside I hate the turkey especially
And my parents joke about my grandma's "FANTASTIC" mashed potatoes when they're not around |

@cog I am thankful, I just hate the thanksgiving meal for the most part
I mean its nice to be around family, but still
The best part is the pumpkin pie and cookies we buy from costco that WE bring every year to my grandmas |
