You can be near another culture yet refuse to acknowledge them. However,it often leads to problems. |

What I don't understand is how you're saying you can't perserve your identity by being around other cultures? If you mean something like the way they behave, I might understand. But your identity is not threatened when a foreigner comes along. |

Foreigners of a different culture can contribute to their new home, whether it's helping customers out because they know spanish,or opening a asian restaraunt. Foreigners can love a country that is not their own.For example,someone who was raised in a tyrannical government may appreciate the values of freedom in another country.
