It encourages sellers to make more high quality products so that players aren't complaining about bad products that either are very low quality or have something inappropriate on the back that you can't see. They just won't take the time to save up for something like that. This causes any bad shirts, t-shirts, or pants to not be bought, trolls are stopped, and the people who aren't very good at making clothing will try to get better.
Also, it prevents copying. People who copy used to be able to make a lot of profit if they copied an expensive item. Let's pretend they copied a shirt worth 50 Robux and sold it for 1. They would make crazy amounts of profit, and put the original seller out of business. Now, they make little or no profit.
This also gives the roblox staff a little extra cash to spend because people will spend real money on BC and robux. They could hire more employees and be able to pay for them, or invest in newer technology to improve the overall experience for players.
Overall, this just improves the economy for roblox. The roblox blog sums it up very well in the original article about its release:
"Why are we making this change? There are three main reasons: 1.Raise the quality of items in the catalog. 2.Reward makers and sellers of clothing. 3.To incentivize non-paying users to buy ROBUX."
No this isn't a suggestion, but if I see one more thread about the removing price floor I might go insane. This is for people to realize that it has some huge benefits. |

Loser. It causes inflation. http://web.roblox.com/PlaceItem.aspx?id=95866396 Inflation because: People are forced to buy Robux. More Robux in circulation, less valuable it is. Then, the less valuable Robux is INFLATION. Again, http://web.roblox.com/PlaceItem.aspx?seoname=GET-OUT&id=95866396

Inflation is when money loses value because there is too much of it. If you guys think this causes inflation, why not just stop making money every time you log on and ban buying robux with real money? That will stop inflation once and for all. This really does not cause much inflation at all.
You guys have to realize the purpose of this is to stop people from complaining about the floor price. You guys don't understand. At least one of you has already made a thread about adding floor price to WNTS. Hypocrites. |

| I find it humorous that this post is interrupting a string of petitions and rants against the floor price. |

The price floor does not cause inflation.
The number of people who buy massive amounts of robux as a result of this are few and far between.
People will still want to buy clothes, and with a price floor, more money is taken out of circulation.
If anything, the value of robux will go up. |

First off, false, and second off, they want to buy clothes but CANNOT buy clothes. Not everyone is rich, you're all conceited. |

It's not like the price floor is 1,000 robux. People will still be able to buy clothes.
Sure, NBC players will have to wait 10 days, but is it really that bad? What if shirts have been undervalued this whole time? |

9 Days for a shirt + 10 Days for pants + 10 Days for a T-shirt = 29 Days or about a month
This means a month being mocked for looking like a noob, making them likely to quit, and once all of the current players move on, there will be nobody to fill their spaces and buy builders club. |

You don't need a full outfit to not look like a "noob." A shirt will let you get by just fine.
Assuming that being mocked for being a "noob" is frequent (not that it necessarily is), many don't even realize, because they have safe chat.
How many people will quit because someone called them a noob? They might ragequit their game, but unless a whole faction has gotten together to bully the person off Roblox, they'll come back. |

Removing the price floor doesn't help us as much as having it either way. Not saying that clothing or people who create clothes are bad, but if clothes are what sums up majority of this community, then our reputation isn't proceeding as it should have been planned.
I play because I'm a gamer. I don't dress up just so I could get bullied or become the 99% of users who do this sort of thing for a living. |

It doesn't reward people who make clothes. It's so expensive people tend to just copy the template and make their own version of the shirt for free.
It doesn't stop sales of bad stuff. The main reason it was implemented was to stuff the wallets of Kestrel to the brim, because supposedly they are the "best", and therefore all money will be spent on their clothes.
No benefits at all. |

Everyone who is resorting to insults to get their point across by calling the OP "stupid", check yourselves, he's the brave and actually educated one who is refraining from rudeness and using valid facts to get his points across and is defending a very unpopular side of an opinion. The second you think someone is 100% wrong, you're not any better. They're entitled to their opinion as much as you are entitled to yours. Can't believe I had to give you guys a basic lesson on manners. Shame on you all.
As for the OP...
In theory, this change will benefit the whole [BC community] of ROBLOX, but in reality, it does not.
Now, before I continue, let me say that inflation is a poor excuse... The money pumped into the economy is to meet the demand for paying hats, which take money out of the economy, and new players who need cash.
1. This can still occur, except on a more exponential scale so that those who get sccammed get scammed of more versus the previous where they lost money. This does encourage better quality, but those who aim for high quality were still able to. Now everyone is restricted to making high quality shirts. Groups are now overcharging their NBC members for clan outfits.
2. The problem here is that ROBLOX thinks that this will combat the copying issue. However, that responsibility should be left to the owner who should take watch to make sure that any duplicates are reported to ROBLOX for further examination to be deleted. While yes, there are less copiers, this 1. Was not an issue to begin with 2. Does not stop it. Copying still occurs, just at a more subtle level.
3. This one is the one that made me want to throw a brick at ROBLOX. They already make a profit off of NBC, now they're trying to squeeze even more money out of a already oversqueezed player. They force ads on us on the daily when we go to play games. Also, the main reason for us not being able to get BC is either because our parents will not let us (the majority are not eligible for a job), or because we simply don't have the funds to. I can tell you that this did not really work, but actually closed off the market a little more than before.
In the end, this update would have helped our community, but they left out some factors that lose tons out on with this update. I personally believe the pros do not outweigh the cons, thus I am not in support of this update. |
