| So I saw this post earlier and argued with the guy that its not needed but I realized glow would be great! Isn't it annoying where you need the whole brick to emit light, not just the center (without putting range to like 2000000)? Well, support this! Pointlights and spotlight make the center glow but just normal glow would make the entire brick's outside emit light. |

As a scripter and builder, this would be frankly lovely. Support. |

I don't really see how this would make a difference.

@cease The way I see it is that the brick glows brightly without the need to get a pointlight or spotlight. Support. |

Eh.. Maybe more likely they should create a new kind of light:
SurfaceLight
Will act just like the other ones, but will cover all surface.

Would that not just be a point light with shadows turned off?... I'm missing the difference here. |

He wants uniform emission of light.
Say you have a brick, _, and you want it to emit light like this:
._ |.| |.|, where | is the lights, and . is a useless space.
Currently, you can't.
We can only achieve something like:
._ ^ /.\
Where it emits from the center, and not uniformly out of all the sides. |

@Devan
Pointlights emit from the center therefore not lighting the whole brick unless you increase the range. But increasing range seems to make it brighter as well (brightness should control bright and range should control it's range :/). So a glow would make the entire brick's surface glow making it easier to make a realistic laser. |

So.. If I am right, if I am not please correct me..
But you want to have a brick that 'glows' a color?
I haven't tested this, but make a block's Transparency 0.5 and make it have a light on it. It might make the block 'glow'. |

No, you see, I pointlight only makes the center emit light. Problem is, if you make a brick really long, you can clearly see only the center glows. So you go ahead and increase range but it looks more like it increased the brightness (light more concentrated). I'm saying I would like the surface of the brick to glow so no matter how much you stretch it, the whole brick will always emit light, not just the center. |

| You can just go around that then quite easily. Rather than having 1 huge brick. Cut it into smaller bricks along the line. This would most likely be the easiest way to fix what you need. |

@Classic
But why should we have to switch? Also, it would use unnecessary memory to have tons of little bricks. |

Great idea, would help save on bricks quite a bit when creating lambert radiators. Sadly we only get isotropic sources :c |
