Namesnipes are worthless, just more inactive alternative accounts.

Wow you are all dumb,
A name snipe includes common phrases as well as words A name snipe is ANYTHING that is a word or common phrase.
BitByBit is a fairly common phrase and hence a namesnipe.
Now if it's something stupid like AwesomeDudeXD, then that's a whole different story.
I can't believe the ignorance of some people. |

a namesnipe is a single word that has a real definition
like mine; interactivity is a real word with a real defintion and is a single word

A name snipe is NOT only a single word, as I said common phrases are included as name snipes. Otherwise, by that logic, compound words would not be included as name snipes - which include words such as "elsewhere" and
CarAlarm is a name snipe because a car alarm is a single object.
This kind of information might be above your mental capacity but I will try my best to explain it.
It's not necessarily about the words in the name snipe, but the subject.
A name snipe can be multiple words in cases such as if it refers to one object, but that object's name is multiple words, such as car alarm.
A car alarm is one object but the name consists of two words, car and alarm.
In contrast, two objects would not be a name snipe, such as BananaElephant. The difference between CarAlarm and BananaElephant is that a car alarm is a single entity and banana and elephant are two separate entities that are loosely related if at all, which is why that would not be classified as a name snipe.
"BitByBit" is a single phrase used. If it was BitByBitBanana, that would not be a name snipe because "BitByBit" and "banana" are two separate entities. One phrase/One word is a single entity because a word is obviously one thing. A commonly used phrase is a single entity because it is widely used and is a recognizable part of language. Two separate entities are not widely used together and have no generic meaning that can be inferred.
Name snipes are a case by case sort of thing. To say that they must be a single word is ignorant and completely ignoring the logical implications behind name snipes. People say the name snipes must be one word because they are not capable of higher level thinking and as a result cannot logically take a stand, they can only take a stand based on how they feel, meaning the only reason they take their stance on a subject is because of "it feels right", which is only emotional reasoning, not logical.
Obviously there are several exceptions but for the most part I hit the nail on the head. It's not as complicated a thought process as I made it seem. Really the only thing you really need to know from my wordwall is that anybody who jumps to the conclusion that a name snipe is a single word is NOT using a logical thought process, they are using the emotional thought process, AKA "I think ___ because it feels like it's the right answer".
I can't believe I just wasted that much time just to tell people why commonly used phrases are included in name snipes. It's such a stupid subject and I took it so seriously. My post above is not sarcastic in any manner and is not a joke. I stand by what I say and I am willing to prove anybody wrong who says otherwise (provided they are not doing it just to get a reaction) |
