to be an rter you don't need a signature/siggy
you don't need a certain amount of posts
you don't need anything other than to have posted more on rt than any other sub-forum
however i personally think that you only become a ''real'' rter when you are accepted into their community and recognized by more than a few.
however i reckon from personal experience that to achieve the latter feat would require at least two months of foruming on rt
in your current stage i'd advise from not making too many threads as that attracts attention, and rters aren't really too kind on newcomers so it'd be a good idea to remain 'under the radar' until you get at least some recognition and post count (some rters are still judgmental plebs on the matter of post count, however it's a dying custom) |

| To be an RT'er you must bow at my feet and give me everything you own. |

@donuteer, Thank you on your tips but no, sadly in OT post count is still all the style |

also don't imitate how other people think rters usually act
just be yourself and follow this advice:
1, don't assume things that people might find insulting
2, don't define a small group of people as everyone (ie saying everyone in rt judges people on post count while only about half of rt's population does so)
3, don't enter arguments/flamewars and try to avoid making them, if you do, stop posting and let it die
4, don't retaliate when someone insults you, as this _will_ lead to flamewars
5, when someone appears to be exaggerating stupidity in an attempt to annoy you or other people, it's likely to be flamebait or someone begging for attention. if this happens, don't reply, don't post, don't give it any attention.
6, don't voice your own opinion too much in public, especially if it isn't the general populace's opinion
and this is RT, not OT
things are different, that's why the mods didn't delete rt |
