Could anyone explain to me how this all works... I mean, Team Fortress is treated like a cohesive narrative, yet I'm so confused at how both Red and Blue teams have identical soldiers, and they both keep apparently coming back after dying. How does this all work? |

| The Enigneer's grandfather built a machine that brought them back to life after dying. This is fact. It's in the TF2 comics. |

Gameplay is non canon.

WELL NOT TO ME YOU SEE
Also, I think each member sometimes joins the other team or maybe switches with another. |

| @Bob But that wouldn't explain multiple classes on the same team. |

| Alright, so basically, Zephaniah Mann had two twin sons: Redmond and Blutarch. They settled out trying to find land to expand their company, Mann & Sons Co. While traveling to the new land, Zephaniah contracted illnesses and died. He had written a will on his skin, giving both halves of the new land to both Redmond and Blutarch, ensuring they would fight over it for the rest of their lives. To capture his brother's half, Blutarch hired 9 mercenaries to do the job, but without his knowledge, Redmond also hired 9 of the same mercenaries to do exactly the same thing. They continued to fight over the land for the next 40 years. However, nearing old age, Blutarch asked expert builder Radigan Conagher (BLU Engineer's grandfather) to build him a machine that would extend his life. Radigan was later approached by a woman to give him Austrailium, in exchange that he builds Blutarch's machine AND an exact same machine for Redmond as well. This machine was used to continually revive the soldiers of both factions. Going forward to 1968, BLU (Builder's League United) and RED (Reliable Excavation Demolition) each hired 9 new mercenaries; the Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Heavy, Demoman, Sniper, Engineer, Medic and Spy. These new mercenaries continued to wage war over both halves of the land left behind by Zephaniah Mann. Helen, the administrator, oversees the whole conflict and provides the voice you hear at the beginning and end of rounds, with the help of Saxton Hale. Saxton Hale provides all the weapons, hats, and miscs to each of the soldiers for their efforts. And that, in a nutshell, pretty much explains TF2. |

| Oh, and it's kind of dumb to ask a question like that in a fictional game. "How do they keep respawning?". Oh, I don't know. That's like asking how you come back in ANY game after dying. |

I'm not talking about the game.
The videos and comics shows mercenaries killed but always comes back. |

@boba
*facepalm*
I just told you how. Radigan Conagher built a machine for each faction that makes them respawn when they die. The comics are tied to the game. |
